It will be interesting to see the reaction from fans who think today was great news if the Rockets end up letting D-Mo walk this summer.
I am giddy - his back may be a risk, but it seems with his work ethos, and proper management we can get him healthy enough to play, if Dwight can recover from it so can DMO. And now we can get him for a discount.....too. Oh baby !! I thought of that - and they might - but I would hope that if he comes in and contributes they reconsider as they did with Horry. The Detroit pick was 3 years away from contributing anyway - so would rather ride DMo and hope for the best.... DD
I'm happy about the news. If DMo's back is truly screwed then I wouldn't have wanted us to rip off another team when it was clear his playing days were over. You just don't want that reputation of you are gonna continue to do business in the NBA. If his back isn't shot, and Detroit just got wet feet about the first rounder...then damn, that means we just added back a piece that will help us win this year.
DET have won this NO trade 100% They get to keep their pick and they can low ball DMo over the summer. My sauces tell me DET found out his back will be fine long term but they didn't want to lose their 1st round pick, they plant concerns and uncertainty around the Rockets and can sign Dmo for a low ball offer over the summer once HOU let him walk
Your a fool DD Dudes been passed on by 2 teams. He's damaged goods, the pick was a lot more valuable.
Do you really think Dmo will even consider signing with the Pistons this summer? His agent will probably block their number.
When the trade was first announced I went and looked at some of his numbers and was kinda shocked about how many shots per minute he gets up. Superstar rate, from a vet min guy who is extremely streaky.
They will let him walk this summer. The Rockets are not going to waste cap room on someone that hasn't proven to be the answer at power forward.
DET have planted concerns around all teams in the league interested in DMO. They could still be the highest of the low ball offers. DMo will go where the most money is as most NBA role players do. It's a business
No hes not youngin. Backs take time to heal...like longer than a year. Detroit determined his back issue would linger into the playoffs and wouldnt help them much to warrant that pick.
well as we say in greece, the pear has a short tail. We will find SOON how healthy is DMO...enough with this grasping at straws conspiracy theories. IF he's really healthy he should play this week.
DMO was playing in D-league games AND practicing with the Rockets, no? Is there no possibility of DMO helping our chances to secure the 5th seed and a possible 2nd round appearance? Seems like Detroit was concerned long term for DMO AND didn't like giving up what could have been a 9-14 first round pick. If he CAN contribute to a favorable playoff outcome, then I'd still say this trade void was salvagable. Especially if Detroit ends up sliding into the lottery top 8.
Will he even be able to walk unassisted by that time? I'm calling crutches at the minimum. Congrats, DD.
