You can still sign them cheap in he summer and hope to flip them at the deadline.

but why would that change their outlook on D-Mo unless there was a change in perception on his back?

I think Stan would value a proven DMo more than whatever the draft pick ends up being. Realistically, the draft pick value has maybe improved 2-3 spots. That doesn't seem enough to just completely flip opinions unless the Back concern is real.

Great, so now we go from potentially having 2 1st round picks this year to likely having zero 1st round picks.

Yes I know we were likely to not have our own first round pick this off-season but I was still kind of dreaming. I have much less reason to watch the upcoming tournament in March.

Agree. This is an incredibly unprofessional move by Stan Van Gundy and everyone associated with Detroit's front office. Needs to be addressed in the next CBA.

    Because it's true.

JB wasn't having him sit on the bench for no reason.

Probably was a good faith move. I'm sure Morey already isn't everyone's favorite GM to deal with.

Who in the cosmos did this team PISS OFF. UNREAL. Just can not catch a break.
Les and Darrel. Go buy some holy water, get a few bells to ring and light a few candles and chant to whatever entity you pissed off.

Their playoffs hopes are far from over. But Tolliver did get injured last night.

I know. But it's in the hand of the team, if they waive the physical or not. They didn't and had always the option to void during the initial window.
What they did was totally legal.

A risk when trading injured players.

He is a TERRIBLE defender. When he isn't scoring (which is like every other game), he is a net negative out there.

Shams says : The physicians and specialists examining Motiejunas' back refused to clear him, pushing Pistons executives to kill the deal agred upon at Thursday's trade deadline, league sources said.

Yeah. I was hoping we'd finally get to a point where the KJ investment wasn't totally pointless.

I think the chance of reinjury was pretty much known at the time of the trade. This is all about their free-fall. They thought DMO would help them now and in the future. They probably think they can still get him in FA without losing the pick (and possibly at a discounted rate). But its a big risk if you really want/like the guy (which I'm assuming they did based on the terms of the trade). You may be able to pick him up cheaper but it also increases the plausibility of a Houston match.

I wouldn't be shocked if Alexander literally fires everyone...... from Morey on down the line.

And we get nothing of value for one of the two expiring PF's (Jones or D-Mo).
