BTW, this is why you shouldn't want until the deadline to make deals. Now the Rockets have NO plan B, and are likely to lose Dwight and D-Mo for nothing. That's three major assets (including Parsons) that are lost without anything in return.
Part of me wonders if they are voiding it mainly because they became convinced the past few days that they were going to miss the playoffs.
His 3pt % is actually worse than our team average. Thornton: .338 Team: 350 Five guys on the team shoot better than him.
I was so confused on why so many were ready to fire Morey for making this trade, but now you know why.
Why this trade voided is bad for the rockets : a) Morey probably had many other trade options in the table, and he chose to turn them down for this. Now he has no longer options. b) Someone has to be bought out to go under the lux tax c) Serious devaluation of DMO, a player and asset of the team. The only small bright side is that he now can be kept on a small contract. With what Woj reported I don't see him taking his qo.
Detroit could have been the one to wait until the last hours to accept the deal, we don't know. It is absurd that they can get away with this.
I keep on thinking about that Ronda Rousey quote from there other day when she said after getting knocked out "if I'm not this anymore what am I", and have to think that alot of thoughts are going through D-Mo's head now about his future in basketball, and really just how his whole future is thrown through a loop. If I wasn't a D-Mo fan before I sure as hell am now. Really pulling for the guy.
Pistons' had a case of buyer's remorse. AS long as Rockets disclosed Motiejunas' back issue and all medical records, Pistons should not have the ability to void the trade UNLESS they find additional issues that the Rockets did not disclose and/or were not aware of. Rockets should complain to the league office and push this trade through.
Shocking, but hardly unprecedented. We know that first hand with the Horry trade. OKC voided the Tyson Chandler trade due their medical exam too. He turned out to have a healthy career and probably would’ve helped them a lot. This sucks for us. We needed that lotto pick this summer. DMo might still get an offer from another team and we’ll need to let him walk if we have any plans at all in free agency.
Jeez... not everything is a conspiracy guys... If Detroit did do what a lot of you guys striving for any other answer are trying to say, then they will lose a TON of trust and credibility in the league. Owners stand up for each other against these sort of underhanded dealings.
