I don't get it either. I don't expect everyone to agree, for sure....but I'd far rather have the first round pick (either to pick or to package away in exchange for something) than a guy who is having recurring back issues. Thought Rockets fans would have learned that lesson already.

Why? That would mean DMo's back is ****ed and we'd be out a late lottery pick and either letting DMo walk or paying someone with a back so bad another team wouldn't take him on.

Well, D-Mo is a young player and had his break-out season last year. Those were 70 really good games. He made that leap to where he was realizing his potential and was becoming the player people envisioned him becoming.

And then he gets traded away.

I can see how that stings even when getting a potential lotto pick out of it.

You think Rockets have better chance of deep playoffs run this season with DMo and Thornton or without them?

You forgot the very important matter that he is a big coming off of back surgery and the opposing team we are attempting to trade him to has already publicly said he will have flare ups on occasions, meaning games missed.

They don't have a chance either way.

Yes, from a practical perspective the trade makes sense. From an emotional perspective, it's tough to lose D-Mo.

So, any word on if they will grant the extension or not?

Extension was granted yesterday. They have until 6:00 pm today to make a decision on D-Mo, I believe.

They already have. The extension goes through tonight at 6pm. Not sure if Detroit can ask for another extension.

I rather have the players back, Morey doesn't draft well lately anyway. You have a system that relies on threes, yet you draft two guys who can't shoot well? And the list goes on.

But but Morey picks best players available!!!!!! and everyone wanted Dekker when he was falling!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I agree. His picks are usually a miss.

Yeah that makes zero sense. Yeah let's hope his back is ****** up so we can lose our pick (lottery atm while Pistons continue to lose) and get our oft injured player back!!

    Right?

We lose the pick and get back a player another team wanted to acquire but then chooses not to because of their findings from intensive medical exams.

So would that mean Marcus Thornton be back? They can have him.
