Kemba Walker and Batum drop 44, and lin shoots 3-10 for 11 points the nets are 15-41 not exactly an good team
If we look at the offensive efficiency ranking of the Houston Rockets during the Harden era, the highest ranking they ever achieved happened in 2013-14, when they were ranked 4th overall. They were ranked 6th overall in 2012-13, 12th overall in 2014-15 and 8th overall in 2015-16 so far. So, if we are only talking about offense, it would seem that the 2013-14 team had roughly the right formula. The thing that team had was multiple perimeter guys who can both shoot and penetrate-- particularly Harden, Parsons and Lin. Harden is by far the best at it, of course, but having those secondary threats who didn't necessarily demand the ball that much (even though they probably wanted more touches), but can drive the ball when needed, helped keeping Harden from having to do all the work and made for an efficient offense. So, I'm not sure the team needs a "real PG" as much as it just needs guys who are threats to both penetrate and shoot (and hopefully, pass the ball also), and it doesn't matter what position they play all that much. Those guys will probably have to be capable to play both an off-ball role and a secondary on-ball role also.

Because cherry picking stats to glorify, defend, or excuse Lin's performance is not a known defining characteristic of LOF.
Except Lin Fans accept Lin as a middle-of-the-road average serviceable player in the NBA. LOFs that think he's an all-star are not present in this thread or on CF.net anymore. He's -.83 in real plus/minus for the year which is 33rd in the league for point guards. He's -3 this year in rating per 100 possessions. Pick your stat LOF.
