If Rockets would refuse to comply, Pistons could void the trade without any approval from NBA.

Sure. If the trade is voided it never happened. That said, there's no way that would happen. For the Pistons to nix this trade, they'd have to see something that would make them not want DMo long term, if they see that, they won't be trying to sign him.

for 5-6 per? Of course they would!

KOQ got 5 per (or around that if I remember right) and he hardly plays.

    This is hilarious.

Rockets will go from having a mental midget PF with a questionable bad back to having a mental midget PF with a confirmed bad back.

Bonus: It solves the problem of offering him any new contract this summer, not just the near max.

What makes him a mental midget?

Well it depends on just how bad they think the situation is but in the new cap 5-6 per is nothing so maybe they would anyway.

I honestly think they approve the deal because SVG really wants DMo on his team but of course I'm not privy to the things their medical staff says (or the Rockets for that matter) so who knows?

This may be the stupidest thing I've ever read as it pertains to Basketball, so I'll assume your joking.

I only said 1+1 p.o because I think there will be multiple teams trying to sign him on the cheap and seeing if he can back by the summer to health. Otherwise a smart GM will try to sign him to 2+1 T.O to have his bird rights and have him for more years on the cheap while also have the flexibillity to just eat one year and then have him as a small expiring.
Teams waste a lot of useless money on 8+ rotational players that almost never are contributors.

I think this deal isn't voided as well but who knows.

Agree. I thought your initial comments was a solid take like Mathloom's, and that others were trolling you. Then you seemed to have taken the bait and were trolled into losing focus on what is important about this.

I don't think so, sounds like they are making sure, or maybe having 2nd thoughts.

So maybe they will fail him on his physical even if he's healthy?

I think they are having 2nd thoughts. I dont think any of the medicals that the Rockets provided in regards to DMo changed...but the value of the "1st round pick" did... Buyers remorse is a bad thing...I dont mind having DMo/MT back...but as others have said on this thread...I really warmed up to the fact that Morey couldve netted us an excellent value pick. Secretly, I think you did as well DD.

Can the deal be changed? Perhaps a 2nd thrown in or something like that?

The Pistons read on ESPN that they lost the trade, so they are working to renege.

Nearly every team ahead of Detroit in the EC playoff race has won, while they've lost two in a row and face Cleveland. They may just want their pick back even if DMo is healthy.

If Dmo's healthy the NBA won't let them void the trade.
