Why would you say that? Harden's defense is some of the worst of all time. It's laughable, it's pathetic, it makes other players play worse defense. Pretty much 99% of the players playing in the NBA today are better, the only way you'd have a worse defender was if you took a Nowitzki or a Boban and put him on a guard
Lillard vs. Curry , from Rockets fans perspective is like a conversation of " my abusive husband is better than my abusive BF"
Well, if you live in a world where you believe Harden is the worst defender in the league without question, maybe. If you live in reality, there are plenty out there that are worse.
No way he is better than James, and impressive win for Portland, but people are acting like they can consistently beat them.
I've always maintained that there is no objective way to comprehensively measure individual defense. So who is the worse defender is a matter of opinion. I don't think Harden is the worst defender of the whole league. Maybe Lillard is worse. Maybe it's just a perception thing. But somehow nobody accuses of Lillard for not bringing it every game.
This is laughable. Lillard is all about himself. He's the cream of the crop of self promotion, Further, he's is STILL acting like some sort of underdog. We get it, bruh. You weren't offered many scholarships. Weber was a long time ago.
Pretty much this...call me when he leads his team to 65% and 2nd place in that western conference. Lilly is good, i like is pride/fire (i would love some of that in Harden tbh), but i read people saying crazy things like "he's on Curry level"...no. The dude is good, great shooter/scorer but that's it, he doesn't make his teammates better like Harden or other top players, and i think he never will, but it's ok, he's still very good, just not one of the best.
Whether someone brings it or not doesn't really matter when discussing who is the better, more effective defender. If a guy doesn't try as hard as he could, yet is still better. Well then he's still better. Harden with his try when he wants to defense is more effective than Lillard and I have never heard any scout or analyst say other wise. Pretty much every time I hear a discussion on Lillard it's about how bad his defense is. Actually the last podcast discussion I heard the guys were talking about how its going to be tough to make their starting backcourt work because of how bad Dame is defensively and CJ isn't all that much better. I believe they were saying that up to that point the Blazers overall were better with just CJ on the court rather than the 2 of them and it's mostly because of how terrible Dame is defensively. So good job, good effort Lillard, but it's still not effective.
Yeah, he also whined a lot to be left out on team usa AND to be left out on the all star game...i think he overvalues himself...a bit...i think.
Nash was a bad defender as well, dude just didn't have it physically to be a good defender but he brought it hard every game no matter which orifice he was bleeding from. He would take charges switch on time, and rotate. Harden is a worse defender than him (not counting last year). Thats the extent of it.
Fun highlights to watch. 6 steals as well. Fun to see Curry whining and flailing his GOAT arms all over the place while getting torched. LOL. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vzHbZ66qupU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yes. Like I said before. I believe it was Tom Haberstroh and a few other guys on a podcast where they were discussing who should be the all star reserves. Lillards name was brought up and I believe the exact words said and then were agreed upon by the group was that Lillard was a smaller, weaker, less efficient, defensively worse version of James Harden. And that was why they would put Harden on the all star team over Lillard.
