Your quote should be viewed within the context of the rest of my post to DD, and where did I say the situation at the 4 was a good one?

I wasn't trying to suggest that you were saying the situation at the 4 was a good one. I was taking exception to you saying that it's no different today than it was before, that's just not true. In the past we had the prospect of our starting PF returning, now....well we have Harrell.

    DD (and others):
    Just remember the Parsons incident.
Easy to forget the past but Morey has made the right decision more often than not in hos tenure as Rockets GM.
    Reseve judgement until this summer.

With Parsons, we got Ariza to make that not as much of an issue, in the past there is usually another move that makes it okay even if it's not immediately clear why they do things. With this move, it's perfectly clear that they gave up on the season and just didn't want to play the luxury.

Odds are the first round pick will end up contributing in some fashion (either via trade or by the selection itself), rather than DMo allofasudden not only being fully healthy, but able to play at an even higher level than he did prior to the injury.

Backs are scary. They rarely get better. And when you're 26 and already requiring surgery (with setbacks after the rehab) it's even scarier.

Exactly. And they got a freakin first round pick for him.

    Total steal.

Never ending PF search continues.

Scola, Patterson, Morris, Jones, Motiejunas, Smith, Robinson, White, G.Smith, Asik, Capela,...

    I've lost count.

It was safe to say DMo wasn't the answer even prior to the trade.

How many of them yielded a first round pick in return?

    Parsons is better than Ariza.

Parsons is absolutely horrible defensively. He has no discipline to properly switch and routinely doesn't defend the PNR.

How many rings does Parsons have?

How many rings does Ariza have?

And the problem with that is what exactly? Surely, you gave up on the season, right? We know DD already did with his not one nickel or one dime post.

Giving up on the season is not the issue here. The issue is whether DMo for a first rounder is a good move or not, considering everything ... injury and RFA versus his potential. But one thing is for sure, he was not going to be a savior for this season.

Hopefully he'll miss out on the playoffs and so will we.

Anything that gets DD this upset simply can't be 100% bad, right?

Call it the "Von Wafer Rule"?

    100% agree

    DD is usually always wrong.

Sucks cause I liked dmo too but we absolutly came out on top in this trade.

Had dmo been playing im sure the deal doesn't get made but somthing is really wrong with that back and it's not magically going to get better in Detroit.

I mean he's in NYC right now seeing a specailists, that's not good.

This. Dmo's career is awaiting to be over. I got over it when examining the facts.

Giving up on the season IS the problem for me. I wasn't ready to do so, but Morey was. I mean it goes without saying that DMo, Thornton, and a 2nd round pick for a playoff team's first round pick is a terrible trade.

Sure maybe you are happy about the team making themselves worse at the trade deadline just so that Les can spend a little bit less money, but I don't see that being a popular opinion among Rockets fans.
