Yes the most alarming is this perfomance in a contract year after letting go of all that guaranteed money. And it's not just the fit..it's lack of effort as well, being hesitant.
For a vet this is inexcusable and baffling. It's not like he has clashed with teammates or a coach.

Definitely RED FLAG of addiction problem. If we hadn't enough already.

Anyone know what he means? Under what scenario would we not have had Motiejunas' restricted rights?

This is an odd quote and might go a long way toward me understanding this trade better. If anyone knows what Daryl is referring to.

For example, if we were trying to sign a free agent but needed more space, we could have renounced our rights to DMo in order to help create more space.

 

Probably this. But that would be a scenario like Durant agrees to sign, if Howard stays, and we have to pay them both max or something.

At that point, who really cares if we lose DMo. I suppose the draft pick would be nice, but that has a salary cap hit, too.

That scenario is the only one I could think of where what he said would make sense.

You still mad that they didn't give Von Wafer the MLE as you suggested.

 

Not necessarily rotten but their good effort is not enough.

They try to please the fans short term while still wanting to make more money.

Nothing wrong with that but even the average Joe is going to unmask their strategy.

Possible because we had a pretty valuable 1st round pick that could have been used as part of a bigger package in DMo's case.

With Howard, there was really nothing on the table and no concrete offers or assets.

 

I don't see a mid first round pick capable of adding that much value, it sure hasn't done it under Morey.

I actually agree with that provided Morey keeps the pick and drafts since he is a mediocre to poor 1st round drafter.

However, it still has plenty of value (to other teams) and as an asset to the Rockets if Morey can manage to flip it into something bigger.

 

A mid 1st round pick was traded to OKC as part of the James Harden package. A mid 1st round pick of Jeremy Lamb was also included.
