Politifact Texas rank Cruz as truthful. Rationalization for statement: Half Truth + Mostly True + True = 33%, which is greater than Mostly False (29%), False (32%) or Pants on Fire (7%).
Ranking of how the Republican Town Hall went? I only saw Cruz, Rubio, Trump, and Kasich so I can't speak for the other guys but here's how my ranking for the ones I did see. Kasich, Rubio, Trump, Cruz. I really believe that Kasich is the best candidate out there but man, that moderate stance just doesn't fly well with some people.
That Kasich was great personally and I believe he sells compassionate conservatism better than any candidate ever has. Thought Rubio did really well also and was surprised to see him take a very reasonable position on criminal justice reform. Thought Bush did well but think he panders a little too much. Thought Ben Carson was dreadful. Didn't bother watching Trump or Cruz honestly. Let me just say that I'm very happy to see that criminal justice reform seems to be an issue that is being embraced by the moderate wing of the Republican party. It's an issue I've long felt was a foolish position of opposition by Republicans. Kasich made an outstanding argument for it both from a compassionate perspective AND from a conservative perspective. (It actually costs less to treat/rehab than it does to imprison) It's sad to me that a combination of racism and white nationalism is going to keep a man like Kasich out of the White House.
1. Asks to see facts about Cruz's dishonesty 2. Multiple people post those facts 3. Ignores all of them A true republican.
I'm pretty sure that if your choice is between two dishonest politicians you'll vote for the one that aligns more with you politically. In fact, that is likely going to be the choice in November.
Fair enough, but I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of it. If you are supporting or you will be supporting someone like Hillary who is not only a liar but has a history of being criminally incompetent when given high office, it's pretty ridiculous to whine about someone else lying. I don't support the Canadian or the criminal, so I'm pretty impartial here.
The first four items on that list are 100% true, regardless of how Politifact chooses to interpret them.
Not really. One of those was true, but it was the one where Cruz is taking a joke and acting as if it was said in seriousness, so it isn't really honest even if it isn't an outright lie. It was rated mostly false.
If you do not lie, you are probably not a very good president, that is the truth. If you lie too much you are not a good president either.
Very true, I think Bernie is the most honest person still in the race.....he just has awful political ideas unfortunately.
Bernie's political ideas don't scare me. What gives me trepidation are the taxes to be levied on my family. We still live paycheck to paycheck, but at more than 3x the median household income, I suspect that we are going to get killed on that end.
Bernie's ideas don't scare me. Heck, I agree with most of them. What worries me is seeing him get the nomination and either Trump or Cruz (or Rubio), with help from extremist billionaires, spend hundreds of millions painting him as a crazy socialist, and it works. It would be unfair, but unfair describes politics as well as any other word.
Well his ideas make him unelectable so it doesn't really matter....and even if he was, he'd get almost nothing through congress even if Democrats seized the house and senate. He'd struggle with moderate Democrats the way that moderate Democrats struggle with Republicans.
