Codman, I just want to thank you for posting on here. Same with Cyberx. Everyday I look forward to getting on CF and seeing something you two post.

Hopefully you guys can provide some insight on what Morey is looking for in a potential buyout candidate.

Why? I want to know WHY???????????????????????????????????????????????

The Spurs would, the Warriors would, GOOD TEAMS THAT ARE TRULY COMPETING DO!!!

This tells everyone that the Rockets are not serious about winning, not even close, they are a pull the wool over everyone's eyes and try to win cheaply.

Good teams PAY their players, they KEEP their talent, we have let all of our players we drafted that have developed into GOOD players go away before we had to pay them.

We are trying to build a SUPERSTAR roster surrounded by role players, and that is why we will never get there, because we are not a destination location, players know that to sign with Houston means you can be traded at any minute, so all we will ever get are guys that are in it for themselves, EVERY GOOD TEAM ORIENTED player has been flipped....EVERY SINGLE ONE.

    And the Rockets tread water.

    ****ING DISGUSTED with this team.

I'm right there with you, I haven't been this angry about a Rockets trade since the Barkley deal.

    HORSE ****....

I don't trust the Rockets - they are cheap, they have traded EVERY SINGLE draft pick before they had to give them a raise.

They are not building, they are flipping and hoping, meanwhile San Antonio kicks our asses...as a properly run organization.

Les has built a ****ING DAY TRADING team...flip flip flip.

And no one has loyalty to the Rockets - the fans are losing it, and all the players are not loyal either, and I can't blame them one bit.

Do you notice how Dmo came back but shortly after had to go back into rehab? His back had huge ?????? on it. Think about it.

So from what I understand we lost our man DMo and our shooter for a worthless late round 1st?

He had muscle soreness, didn't bother Detroit, didn't bother him in the valley.

There is nothing to cheer for this year, we have a bunch of lazy players, a clueless front office and a cheap assed owner.

Worst Rockets season I can remember and been a fan since 1972.

And I have no hope that Morey can turn it around, he has failed to advance this team or give it a meaningful direction in 8 years.

    UGH.

Honestly, if I was Les I wouldn't want to pay the luxury tax for what we've seen out on the floor lately, either.

This is pretty poor return on money spent.

I remember all those Allan Houston years in NYC when the Knicks were always as totally capped out as they could be, and Knick fans were always pushing for more, more, more, and crushed at the failure. They apparently didn't realize that the more tautly you stretch the rubber band, the less horizontal play you are afforded, by the laws of physics.

For those Knicks teams, the problem wasn't spending too little money, it was spending too much on stuff that wasn't worth anything.

To properly prepare the roses for new growth in the spring, it is required to prune the old, dead, and problematic branches away.

This is a bitter pill to swallow, but so was letting Chandler Parsons walk. There was a similar sense of being punched in the gut in that. That worked out OK. Of course that doesn't mean this will look like the right move in retrospect, but neither is a relatively minor contraction in the team a guarantee of doom.

Can we trade DD away for a second round pick?

Calm down. DMO potentially got us a lottery pick. Thornton wasn't a reliable rotation player, rather streaky, and the second rd pick is whatever.

We save so much money on this deal and now will have Dekker, Harrell, that pick as our young youth or assets.

DMO or Jones? Morey/Les made the valid decision to cut ties with DMO based on injury history. Yes, he's still 25.

But we played our hand. Have faith in him.

Morey now will have max room (can have it and more) this offseason. There is even more time to turn this season around.

Then trade KJ and a 2nd pick back to Philly.

There were other ways to get under the tax then to jettison your best offensive front court player.

Oh right year 9 of Morey's cap room methodology.

I am SURE He will get it right after 8 failures.

what I hate more than this trade is the spin.
"Oh is a good trade. Either Dmo is injured and done as a player or DMO is gonna get overpaid. Oh the lottery pick is high potential LOTTERYYY!!"
    mY A$$.
The pick will be low after the moves they have made, and DMO either will not get paid at all if he was injured (so no problem keeping him) or DMO will play will be amazing and he will get paid teh $ that every good player will this summer.

We will find out soon enough how injured he really is...AND if by the end of the year when the Pistons are top4 seed and DMO has the starting pf I would like to bump this thread and laugh at all the denials and spinning.

This...the Rockets really had a chance to get under the tax limit by offloading other pieces on the team... DMo's greatest value was his offensive post talent. We NO longer have that. And as a result the Rockets will continue to struggle this year. The Dwight Harden experiment failed...

oh please at getting out of the lux tax as reason to trade DMO and Thornton out of all players. WHy not trade someone who is actually paid more ...like Lawson? Or Beverly?
Do you think you couldn't give that same second rounder + Jones + KJ to Portland or Philly and have them absorb Lawson?
