howard has no reason to get s+t. He can't get the 5th year in S+T anymore.

Our future now depends more than ever on JAMES HARDEN. If any other stars come here it will be becuase they prefer to play with harden over the other options . None of this Houston bull**** is gonna sell anyone . If Houston is such a great destination, why did Morey have to make a deal with fegan to let parsons out of his contract to get Dwight to sign here ?

If anyone good actually decides to sign here James harden will have come through unimaginablely well for us .

Harden needs to show that he can play off the ball with Lawson...if not...going after Conley..etc...is effectively pointless...

The Rockets need a completely different offensive philosophy...one that takes the Hero out of basketball...Clean house completely (firing Morey would now be acceptable to me)...Hire Blatt or Messina(hoping he wants to..) Sign high IQ players that embrace their roles.

I don't think Love has to play like crap..if he's just himself, with no D, they'll blame him, if the Cavs lose.

So basically you are saying James Harden is the real problem that we can not get any stars to join this team and instead, we can only sign r****ds and morons to come here to play with the Rox.

    Lol

No freaking way Howard resigns here.. After being shopped about like that? The rest of the league hung Morey out to dry.. Superstars saw that everybody is an asset on the rockets.. Why would anybody want to sign here?

He goes after every big name free agent on the market and does not prize loyalty whatsoever..

So my prediction for free agency is that Howard leaves because someone will offer him max money. Nobody traded now because they could pursue him then.

No big superstar comes over to the Rockets because they'd have to play next to Haren and defend for two people while not getting any job security.

You don't think he'd be willing to do a S&T to go to the Cavs?

if the cavs you mean had a group lobotomy and decided to ADD salaries to trade for Dwight to give him his max!?!?!?

If the Cavs trade Love it will be to fill their holes with elite roleplayers or for let's say Griffin. Not to have the honor to pay Dwight 30+ per.

Aren't we the only team that can sign him to a five year max? Which reportedly he is seeking a max deal. If Howard would accept a more reasonable $15-$20 million dollar contract you could get damn close on adding two max players alongside Harden and Howard.

I don't think Howard gets 30+ mill per, I think at max he gets around 25 mill per at this point. But anyways, Love will be making 21.5 next season 21.5 times 1.25 ='s 26.8 mill. I think Howard would easily take a starting salary of 26.8 mill to go to the Cavs through a S&T.

Whether the Cavs would do it or not who knows lol I think its highly unlikely but a possibility never the less. Like I said I have no expectations of a deal like that.

I'm so tired of Morey and his star chasing. Build a solid team. Surround James with the proper players and hire a strong minded coach. That's how we will win championships. Not hoping and praying Durant will magically come here. I'm so over Morey. Thanks for Harden but you can leave now

    I hear ya.
The huffort Rockets of scola/hayes/battier/landry etc were easier to cheer for and like.
On the otherhand, even if we went the ither route by gettig solid players, i dont think we would be true contenders.
You always win with 2-3 stars and solid role players.
The only exceptions are Hakeem, Pistons and Curry.

I'm tired because I think it's ridiculous to go after Durant. With this roster.

And I want to be a fan of a team that is realistic. Right now it is not. Horford is realistic 1st target even if you fail. Who knows..even if the chances are small. Batum is realistic.

Conley, Durant, Derozan...s+t with Love? No.

Why would any tier 1 FA come here? LOL

Franchise treats the players like ****. No system in place. No coach.

This is run is over. James Harden will play out his contract and go to the Lakers if he isnt traded before that. Dwight is on the downhill ... and as was the case with Tmac and Yao ... the rest of the team are 'just guys'. Way to learn from past mistakes Morey.

Welcome to the Clint Capela era.

I'm tired because Morey always keeps his flexibility, but you never know when he will use his flexibility. I am afraid I won't see it in my life...

I don't see it that way. MIL wouldn't trade for Dwight because he wouldn't opt in to next year's deal. The fact that this conversation even happened tells me that there was pretty open communication between Morey and Howard's camp.

Morey was straight up with Dwight by telling him we wouldn't give him the max next year, and that we'd look for a deal to get him to a team who would be willing to pay him that $ amount. Morey would only move him (and his Bird rights) to a place that Dwight would want to be long-term.

That deal didn't materialize, and here we are. If Dwight leaves in the off-season, I believe he does so on good terms. I don't see this as Morey being ruthless, but instead attempting to find a deal that would benefit both parties.
