Nick, Horford and Durant are not 10 year vet. They 9 year vet and their max is not 30.

On offense, why would Conley or Teague be a better fit next to Harden than Lawson? People seem to forget how well we regarded Lawson before this year.

Last year's Lawson apparently no longer exists.

Sorry 25%, my bad I knew that but mixed up the numbers.

    30% for Howard, Gasol

25% for Durant, DeRozan, Horford, Conley, Batum, Anderson, Parsons

    20% for Barnes, Whiteside

Note that I definitely wouldn't be cool with giving Gasol, Howard, Batum or Anderson anywhere near their max. I think all of those guys should be signing for 20 mill per at max.

As well as being able to max 2 players while keeping Bev/Ariza

We could give three 20 mill deals (Barnes/Gasol/Whiteside) as well as keep Bev

or Give on 25% max and 2 20% max deals if we dump Ariza/Bev as well.

Lots of possibilities this summer outside of Durant. Here's to hoping Morey is really on his game.

So why wouldn't Durant opt for a 1 year max and then opt out again to get the 30% max?

Got it. It makes sense if you're KD.

Horford, Conley should too come to think of it.

They can still take 1+1 deals with Houston though.

why would Conley come to play with Harden?

Well I guess he may be an idiot.

But we wouldn't have bird rights so that would make things difficult.

Very possible we strike out on Durant, Conley and Horford for that reason alone. They should all just re-sign for 1+1 deals, opt out and get super ultra mega max's with the cap going up to 110 mill next season. Perhaps Conley/Horford play it safe and sign this off season though.

    DeRozan/Barnes/Batum + Gasol/Anderson and Howard/Whiteside FTW! lol

Horford will not sign 1+1 . He is the only who values a) 5th year b) security c) continuity ....d) style of play. That's why he will most likely resign with Atlanta or if not, to Boston.

Derozan will resign in Toronto or Lakers.
Conley will resign in Memphis or somewhere where he will have free reign to shine like NY. Not next to a ball dominant SG!

I don't see anyone of them coming here, from what it has been leaked and rumoured.

    But one can dream.

Only players with Durant/Lebron level can consider the 1yr deal because even if they are injured, they will be offered the max the following year. For the likes of Conley, Horford etc, they will be advised to take the most guaranteed money as soon as possible. Also, make no mistake, a lot of players will be getting the "max" or near that due to the sudden cap increase so the key would be to get max worthy players to take those slots.

Yes, but that will only matter for a few teams: Cavs, Golden State, Clippers, maybe one or two others.

I also feel like getting the best coach available should be our number one priority to establish a stable and lasting culture.

We are in this position because Les wanted a 'shortcut' and did not want to go through a rebuilding phase.
Morey has proven to be a smart GM who has displayed great understanding of the rules and often finds value in role players and draft picks. He is also very patient and will not make hurried moves out of emotion.

that's all that we need...what scared teams away was that they'd give up something for him now, only to see him walk away...but if he settles for less in the end, we could work something out with that.

If Howard GOES OFF in the playoffs, and Love plays like crap and the Cavs loose perhaps a Howard S&T to the Cavs could end up being a real thing.

But that's based on some big ifs, so i'll just keep my expectation that Howard will walk for nothing.
