We have learned a few interesting things since the trade deadline has passed:

    1. We learned (or it was confirmed) that everyone is waiting for free agency and the expanded cap. The Rockets held onto Howard, Horford and other expiring deals were not made. Indeed very few substantive moves at all were made.

    2. The Rockets were not going to pay what it would take to keep Donatas Motiejunas. This tells me that the Rockets are not happy with their power forward situation going forward and that more importantly, we are probably going to see more of the Rockets keeping cap space open to get a star player. The mantra "flexibility" will remain true. The Rockets do not seem willing to pay for good but not really good players like Motiejunas.

    3. The trading of a second rounder to Philadelphia to take Joel Anthony is interesting. The Rockets have never had an issue trading for or paying for second rounders in the past. However the move of Anthony leads me to believe that Les Alexander is not too happy and is not willing to pay the luxury tax for an underachieving, sub .500% team. Les has owned the Rockets for 20 years and is somewhat predictable, giving up a second rounder could trigger he is going to make massive changes.

    4. Supposedly the Rockets were willing to move Beverley, Ariza and others for reasonable compensation, but nothing was close to getting done. This also gives the Rockets the flexibility to avoid a full rebuild (which wasn't going to happen with Les as owner and Harden able to opt out soon).

    5. Terrence Jones has no value, and the Rockets have to have someone to play power forward.

    Any others?

Corey Brewer can't be the starter. Have to start Smoove with Dwert.

No team is willing to go all in because Warriors/Spurs are just too dominant.

If these teams weren't so good, I believe Morey could have done another deal.

lack of commitment to a great coach and staff makes us look seriously unstable in all facets of the game, esp. when we're losing star players. on a side note, we're jealous of the Mavs for being more successful than us this season because of this.

I have learned to only see things in a positive light:

Dwight has no market, so we will be able to sign him to a favorable deal. 3 / $45 million
Lawson has no market, so we will be able to sign him to a favorable deal. 2 / $10 million
TJones has no market, so we will be able to sign him to a favorable deal. 3 / $15 million
Brewer has no market, so we will have to use an asset to dump him. KJ / 2nd / Dekker

So... when it comes to Durant, we'll say...

Hey, we can give you Bev, Lawson, Harden, Ariza, TJones, and Dwight. Oh and young guy Clint ain't all bad. And of course, you can choose the coach (and therefore play-style) too.

No way Durant turns that down.

    NO
    WAY

    KD to Houston, confirmed.

The joke is not on Morey,

it actually started when you, and like many other teams, actually believed KD will even listen to the sales pitch.

Under Morey the Rockets have not kept ONE player they drafted beyond their rookie contract.

Go look at the Warriors and Spurs and see the difference.

This is such a train wreck. I'm sure rockets will overpay for Howard and take back Parsons. So then rockets will have a shot at going 0-4 against GSW who will have Durant... Lol
