    Or... maybe it's a way of getting SOMETHING of value in return for someone the team had decided would cost more than he was actually worth in the coming years.

    Put another way: This could actually be a prudent (though not very sexy) move. Balancing D-Mo's potential and his availability in future years against what he's likely going to be paid starting next year, Morey decided the team's money wasn't worth the huge risk. Depending on how that money gets spent this summer, some of you might be singing a different tune.

    Daryl Morey is the worst drafter in the league. He just traded D-Mo for another Sam Dekker.

    No I peg him as someone who Detroit couldn't steal. When you want to steal a RFA you have to overpay.

    You are assuming Jones will be gone too. You may be right. But before it happens, let's just wait and see.

    If Morey doesn't trade Jones and signs a "market value" contract with him, I'll be royally pissed. Not that I hate Jones. I just don't think Jones is more valuable than DMo, even given DMo's health issue.
