Rockets trade D-Mo, Thornton to Pistons for first round pick

even if he never plays Taking away Ilyasova and his pumpfakes and puting in Harris is enough.

 

The idea was to kill all hope of the Rockets turning things around so that we can all embrace the tank.

 

How can u even negotiate on draft day when DMo becomes a RFA at end of season? Detroit will just throw money at him and wait for the Rox to not match. In fact if you check out the return other teams get for their RFAs a midround first pick is amazing.

Also ur other trade comparison of Cavs getting Frye isnt good because Frye plays no D and makes like 8M a year, the Rox are trying to cut down on salary to chase a max FA.

 

It's one thing if you value the pick, but you CANNOT tell me that for a good shooter and a 7 footer with a 3pt shot the best player you can get is Joel freaking Anthony..

Thornton is averaging 11pts per game and still fight for playing time.

I've embraced it. But I want the full tank. Maximize that first rounder we get to keep in the Lawson deal. Lose as many games as possible down the stretch.

 

Wow- unless this is leading to a much bigger trade, then this makes no sense.

Right now it is trading players that fit for a guy that doesn't leaving players that don't fit still on the roster.

I am less and less impressed with Morey every day - I just don't think he has much of a clue about how styles fit together - let's hope he has a bigger plan because right now, this is a terrible trade.

SVG just got one of the best young post players in the NBA - and is a good enough coach to take advantage of him. Watch him explode and DMorey try to get him back in free agency for more money.

Thornton was our only real playmaker behind James.

Who has barely been on the floor for 2 years and would probably leave in the summer. This trade is not for the player we are getting in return.
