I agree wholeheartedly. I have heard Kanye's older stuff and was never a fan but thought I'd see what his new stuff was like on SNL - just awful. The autotuned vocals...do people actually think that sounds good?

Kanye claims TLOP will only be available via Tidal on is twitter, explicitly saying it will never be on Apple Music, but don't know what that means for the other services such as Spotify.

I'm in disbelief that so many people love this guy's music -- his new album is awful -- Cher did auto-tune better in 1998.

I don't speak for others, but in my defense...his last two albums sound nothing like his others. Between 2004-2010 he released 4 albums that are fairly pure (and exceedingly original) hip-hop records. And they are all phenomenal, and I consider them among the best the genre has ever served up.

I'm not going to defend his last two albums (or even 808s and Heartbreak, though it certainly has it's moments), but the other four I will defend as classic hip hop albums for eternity.

For those 4 records I'll even take the exact opposite stance as you. I'm in disbelief how anyone who likes hip-hop would not love College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, or My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

His meltdown sounds better than any of his recent efforts. And you Kanye stans are just as delusional as the old white dudes in the Cruz DD thread.

    NSFW Meltdown.

I can't speak to his new album, can't freaking find it anywhere, but what exactly is bad about his old stuff?

the words he said aren't invalid. who gives a **** about context when according to him he's 50% more influential than pablo escobar, pablo picasso, kubrick, the apostle paul, actually all humans at least for the next 1000 years. he didn't clarify living human or all humans who have existed however.

also, he again attacked swift. what's his obsession with her?!?! she's class and he's trash that's for sure. oh and he might needs some meds.

that SNL performance was pretty bad. completely off tune. not one of his better days.

but the album has at least 4-5 tracks that I really like.

    real friends

    fade

    waves

wolves - though the pre - released versions actually sound better. hope he releases a remix or something

    father stretch my hands

    30 hours..

Also "famous" is going to get alot of negative pub for the Taylor swift hit, but they 2nd verse on that one is pretty old skool Kanye.

True story, I was going to compare Kanye fans to Cruz fans but deleted it from my post at the end. Didn't want to upset them, but damn it is a good comparison.

He's pissed that's she is throwing him under the bus. He says that the "Made that b**** famous" line came from her and she gave her blessings for the lyric. She is now denying she ever did that and now she's playing the victim to gain attention from the media.

He's not saying he's better than the men he named. He saying that his words travel and anything he does, wears or says will gain attention. I mean the shoes ,Nike air max, he wore when wrestling that paparazzi sold out as soon as news broke out. He signature shoes sell out within minutes. In 2013 he had his face projected all over the world to premiere his new music video "New Slaves" and people actually went out to go look at a projection on a building.

So yeah he's pretty influential, probably the most influential of the next 50-100 years.

lets be real, he's not as great as he proclaims. But why fault him for thinking anything he's anything less? That confidence motivates him to work hard and put out material that people appreciate, and they don't have to agree he's the next Picaso.

Chances are one of your favorite athletes thinks he or she is the greatest ever, even though its not close to reality. You shouldn't fault the athlete for thinking so tho.

Agonz is right. Kanye has been one of the most influential artist of his era. I mean you can agree or disagree on whether his music is bad or good, but I think his influence can't really be denied. College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, 808s all of these albums are great for me...

With that said man...something happened after MBDTF, i'm not sure what but he lost that magic and IMO sort of fell in line with every other rapper. When listening to Pablo sometimes I feel like I'm listening to a Travis Scott album, which I mean is not bad. It has it's great songs on it, but I dunno.

I think MBDTF was that point that every artist hit where they reach their peak and it's downhill from there. I'm not really feeling Pablo I guess, and I was no big fan of Yeezus either.

I mean if you compare Kanye's recent stuff to Pimp a Butterfly for example, then it just seems like your standard stuff. He's gotten way too much into autotune...like doing it for 808s was cool because it felt experimental, but when half of the rappers use it nowadays it makes him feel like he's justs another dude.

As for his personality, I really don't care. He hasn't raped anyone, killed anyone, or committed any crimes. He's done nothing to me so I can't hate him. Seems like he's a bit unstable though but ____, so are a lot of artist. He just doesn't seem to have a filter for it, like someone should be handling that dudes twitter at this point.

Also though I am open to the idea that there may be some truth to what Kanye said about the famous line. They squashed that at the last grammys, talking about doing songs together and taking pictures together. You don't actually read about many artist having a personal problem with Kanye so I dunno, it seems out of place that after squashing it he'd reignite it with a lyric like that. Seems just as likely that she did say he could use it, he uses it and her team goes 180 on it knowing the publicity she gets from it.

Could be somewhere in the middle too, that she said it to him more as a joke or something and he just ran with it.

But yeah, not many artist have problems with him and if they do he will squash it and move on. So this seems odd. Whole thing could be a double publicity stunt, Kanye likes playing the villain and Taylor likes playing the hero. It has worked for both of them so why let that die.
