Spoiler With him taking out that group with the rocket launcher, I would expect them to want redemption for that and he ends up dead
I think this has been mentioned before, but I don't think the show is a zombie show per se. It is a story of these people just surviving. The fact that they kill these zombies without much effort unless they are overrun by a herd just further reinforces the thought that it is not about the zombies. That was just the main catalyst to have the world this stuff is set in. It is like Jericho, with zombies. Their main conflicts are with other humans. As someone who went and checked out the comics after the show, it's increasingly frustrating how much they try and drag out episodes before moving the story along. There is just so much interesting stuff coming up. I understand that comics read much faster and AMC wants to maximize their monies, but man...to say they are dragging it out and/or milking is a huge understatement.
Yea...I did have a problem with how they portrayed the zombies in this episode. Apparently, you can just stop in the middle of them and have a conversation no problem for the most part. But, the part where the boy (and then Mom) is attacked and all the rest of the zombies are just walking by on the periphery ignoring that a few of their fellow zombies are attacking and eating? They would have been all over that like a swarm of bees in any other episode. And, once the zombies started focusing on Rick, he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did because he would have been surrounded and taken down no matter how hard he fought. They made this epic battle scene and they made the zombies the least aggressive and slow they have probably ever been to accomplish it. Nobody in the epic battle scene got bit. Unlikely.
Meanwhile the guy with the W on his forehead gets bit on the arm in the middle of the road. Sigh.....
I think the show is much more enjoyable once you lower your expectations and suspend your disbelief. Not everything is going to compare with BB or GOT.
Well, they WERE still covered in zombie-guts, so there was nothing really attracting them from a distance, it was only the ones which were really close which caught wind of the unfolding events.
Great premiere Rick being a bad-A after Spoiler the milf and her son dies Coral and Glenn almost dying Daryl saving everyone's skin with that launcher twice That slicing montage at the end was pretty amazing
Lol, I still can't believe the show actually used the rpg correctly. My post back from December was seriously questioning their survival choices. "let's see what these guys blocking the road want, I'm sure they just want to borrow some gas"...
It'll be interesting, but I really still think for the moment Daryl/rick/coral and michonne will be untouchable. I just have a feeling w/ all the crazy fans.... that AMC doesn't want to have the fallout from losing one of them. I think Daryl is still probably one of the most popular non-comic chars for them atm. I mean he was supposed to be out in like season 1, and now it's revived his career, well I mean made it a lot bigger than his previous outings.
I think the show is going to be a short mini series, but it'll be interesting if that contributes to their decision.
I think the dude was there, (Negan). It serves a perfect way of giving the show a violent death of a close character.
Lol, on Glenn though... He does some of the stupidest ****... The writers have basically made him take stupid risks lately. He pretty much pulled a Morgan not killing that crazy.
pretty funny that Rick was basically responsible for jacking that entire family in the end. Started with the deadbeat dad and finished em off by leading them through the herd
This. He was there. Probably back in the woods. The show will revisit the scene from a different angle and tie it all in.
I read some article that actually pointed out there was a car in the background watching the whole thing unfold and it probably had Negan in it. This is leading to the reasoning that Negan saw Daryl blow up his crew and, therefore, Daryl is the one who is going to die instead of Glenn in the finale.
The car in the background was almost certainly an accident/oversight. Daryl is untouchable in terms of the character/ratings paradigm.
