This is not about Howard versus Harden, it's about Howard wanting a max contract versus a long term contract for less money. It's a business decision by the Rockets and they are doing what he is requesting, not to be traded, but getting him a potential max contract offer.
I think it is more likely that he is still here after the deadline. now next season....different story.

What makes everyone so sure he is going to get moved? A few rumors? Haven't we heard these types of rumblings before in regards to other players that have never come to fruition? No reason to believe these rumors hold any more water than the next.
He will be moved or he will move on this summer...better to get something for him now. He and Harden don't mix. Please don't say LAST year this or LAST year that, he missed 41 games last year and we had the same record. DD
Dwight is a class act. If he leaves I won't have any regrets. The dude brought it in the post-season two consecutive years and left everything he had on the court.

What im more afraid of is, after Dwight leaves and we fail to get any stars in FA... James will end up walking after next year.
Yah, don't let facts get in your way. While he might have missed half of last season, he BROUGHT it in the playoffs -- when it actually matters. The year prior, he straight dominated. You know who didn't? James Harden. In pretty much all of our playoff series, who has performed better? Dwight Howard. This season's woes are not on Dwight Howard, they are on the entire team, the organization, the coaching staff, and on Harden's complete disregard for the term "defense." And there is so reason to believe Howard will definitely leave should we not offer him the max. His camp hasn't said so, in fact they've said the opposite. While that certainly doesn't guarantee he doesn't, I believe Morey and co are in a much better place to make that decision. They have direct access to Dwight to have these questions answered. Not you, not I, not anybody (outside of the few insiders) are privy to that information. Everything else is pure speculation.

Howard was the perfect ambassador for our city tho. It makes me sad were trying to trade him. I wish we can keep him and get other players.
