Sources: Houston has started contacting teams about trading Dwight Howard

No reason to trade an expiring Dwight for a plate of expirings (e.g. Jefferson/Williams). Needs to be some tangible asset in there.

 

Deal falling apart tells us a couple things. If Charlotte wasn't parting with useful players & prospects, the Rockets were likely demanding 1st rounderS and/or young players like Zeller/Kaminsky.

Brian Roberts was likely included in the potential deal (why Stein is getting wind of it now) as salary filler so that tells me deal was probably Jefferson, Williams, and Roberts + a first rounder, and Charlotte wouldn't let go of their 1st rounder this year & likely other other picks/pick swaps.

Count Charlotte out. Seems like Morey really wants Dwight off his hands but I doubt he finds a deal

 

Would do terrible things to get Batum on the roster. The Rockets are desperate for a two way player like him.

Sadly don't see any reason why the Hornets would let him go.

 

Man just keep dwight. All these trades suck!!!

Al Jefferson? No thanks he's old fat and injured. Marvin Williams is a nice player but our luck he'll fall off next year because of age.

If it's not horford don't don't do it.

Even if horford hasn't given Morey the word that he will resign I would still do it.

Maybe him and harden form a new kobe/gasol and horford falls in love with that roll and the rockets start winning.

Writing is on the wall. Howard will be dealt and I'd put money on it.

 

I love how a lot of people will say "I'm not interested if this player is included or not included"

Batum on this team as currently constructed would be amazing. Batum on this team sans Howard wouldn't significantly improve our roster.

Damage has been done Dwight is very sensitive player will not play all out IF he stays will sulk and more days off between games because of needed rest.

 

I mean, it sort of makes sense, but I just can't see Morey wanting to swallow Gogi's contract.

 

I really hope if any deal goes through for Howard it's with the Hornets!

Just **** it. Morey should call the Flint Tropics. Maybe we can get Ferrel, Woody Harrelson and André Benjamin back. I don't even think they have real contracts. We can play Love Me Sexy at every halftime if at least 2000 fans show up, Woody will most definitely bring some good bud and Andre can show the NBA this new invention I read about called the Alley Oop. Win/Win!

I don't see the Rockets wanting much from Charlotte, so my speculation is they are trying leverage Jefferson's expiring and get pieces from a 3rd team.
