Not saying rubio will work but he has high bball iq and his teammates like playing with him.
Two things that we lack on our team

I just want the offense to be run by a actual true pg and floor general in every since of the word. Lawson is not in the same world with rubio when it comes to that. Harden would really benefit from playing with rubio as oppose to ty because simply dont have the talent that rubio possess.

I hate hate when people bring up Jason Kidd fixing his 3pt shot and acting like Rubio can replicate it. Kidd is a hall of famer and an anomaly. The exception not the rule. Please stop that nonsense.

yeah that's why lawson has been able to lead a team like the nuggets into the playoffs while rubio can't even get his team to play .500 ball ever

I've said it before, the comparisons with NBA guys who graduated from college with 18+ doesn't apply to Rubio one bit. He's been a Pro since the age of 14 and had some of Europe's greatest coaches and veterans to work with. That makes it 11 years as a Pro with absolutely no progression on his jumpshot, there's nothing that makes me believe he will suddenly "get it" or a narrative like that.

It's not comparable anyhow to a player like Kind who joined the league at the are of 21/22 and only then received proper individual coaching and pro experience.
Looking at the time in a pro environment, Rubio has the pro-mileage and experience that 30+yr old NBA players have. The "he's still young" narrative doesn't apply.

Has Rubio ever lead the league in assists or led his team to the playoff multiple times like Lawson?

Just what we need, a sub-30% 3pt shooter on a team that shoots threes with huge volume

    Another PG who can't shoot.

If you give Harden a pg who can't shoot, that would be disaster.

I'd rather draft a guard the trade for Rubio, better chance of getting a real guard!

    thx for the effort, zeeshan2!

Not everything has to go in a previously created thread. You reviving this thread makes it seem like the original OP rumor has been revived, when it hasn't. It kinda confused me, and probably others. I would say it goes in the Dish, not here...in a new thread. I don't see the Rockets mentioned in that article...thus, it's like the Griffin and Melo stuff in the Dish.

First some of you want Dragic, and now Rubio? Have mercy. At least Dragic can sort of shoot.

he'd be perfect. an actual playmaker who can make 1 dimensional players look like all stars. plus we'd be getting rid of harden dominating the ball and not making much plays except him scoring. with rubio, everyone will play to their strengths more cause Rubio always finds whoever no matter what. and he's only 25. we have a good shooting coach in houston. heck even parsons got good, he had an awful shooting form in his rookie season.

    This one thing I know:

If we keep Dwight and trade for Rubio and Harden agrees to let Rubio run the top and become the primary playmaker when they are both in there together

    Then

This team will take off like a Rocket is supposed to take off and this season will turn into a whole lotta fun for the next 3-4 months. And we might just clear out into the second round or the Conference Finals.

Why would we do this when Harden has been much more successful running an offense throughout his career?

Minny would be stupid to trade Rubio.
He has serious flaws and may not fit a modern NBA offence, and he probably will never learn to shoot, BUT he is one of the best to help develop young players especially big men, or players like Wiggins who need to get assisted.
And that's the primary reason I would like my Bucks to trade for him. To help develop.
Give the ball to the young guys at the best spot. Without taking too many attempts. Perfect.
Philly should also look to get him if they knew what's best for them.

And to add salt to the wound why the Wolves will do it? To give Lavine the pg spot permanently. Jesus Christ.

You have to understand the game. Harden is not an efficient enough playmaker to be the primary playmaker on a championship team. He simply forces and turns the ball over too much. His game is predicated on forcing contact. He'll never be efficient enough as a distributor because he doesn't get back enough of his turnovers on the defensive end and on the offensive glass.

This team needs Ricky Rubio or a Rubio-like playmaker to win a championship.
