We need a pick n pop big! (Horford/milsap/love/blake)

I would not just do a swap of whiteside for Dwight and scrubs, dragic or Winslow must be included.

We need a playmaker on this team aside from James...Lawson has not stepped up :/

You are getting too defensive of Harden...Chill, man.

Nobody is saying trade Harden now. Just entertaining an idea.

If we actually pull this off, we should have a good plan to rebuild.

Harden is wasting his years here anyway. Or he is wasting our years to start over.

Starting over is hard enough, yes, we will be bad for years. That is a process.

But I think being bad with hopeful talented young players is better than mediocrity.

All depending on next year. If Harden cannot get it done, we should be seriously doing this.

This is all if Durant is not joining us because Durant is probably the best No 1 guy barely available in the offseason.

To be defensive you have to be defending him. I'm not. Harden's faults are of his own doing and something that is frustrating.

That's not the point. Trading Harden is dumb and will not happen. It was clickbait started a few days ago for Guys in the media trying to get attention. There is no point in spending time even thinking about it. He's a Rocket for at least another year and a half.

I think "re-tooling" around Harden can be done quicker than you'd think and Durant isn't a necessity although that's a dream scenario. Simply getting a few good supporting players in exchange for the cap space you get next year to trade or sign players will help. Even a small trade on Thursday for a decent role player while moving a useless one (Brewer or Lawson anyone ??) could make a huge difference.

Harden has proven for three years he can carry mediocre support players to a 50 win season. There's no reason a couple deals here and there won't pay dividends on the court. I seriously doubt this team needs a full on rebuild with Harden.

Without Harden you are looking at years and years of trying to draft, trade for, or sign ... Well another Harden. Let's just strap in and prepare for Morey to shake up the roster and then let's see what we got next week or next Summer. Trading Harden just shouldn't be even thought of yet. We are at step C or D, and people are thinking about step Z.

I know right. Just imagine how teams feel on the nights where Harden turns it up on both ends? I'm sure they wonder why they can't get the YouTube lowlight real Harden.

UPDATE: Big hold-up in possible Rockets, Heat, Hawks trade remains what it was earlier: Hawks want Winslow, Heat won't make him available

    Adam Spolane ‏@AdamSpolane
Hawks don't want to give Heat, a division opponent, 2 starters without getting an asset in return from them

Trading a 26 year old top 10 player that's under contract is a dumb idea. Especially one that's proven multiple times that he can carry a team to the playoffs.

Most teams would love to rebuild with a 26 year old stud.

With the possible news of the Chris Bosh maybe having more to his injury than first thought, will be interesting how that will affect the Heats plans.

Yeah makes no sense for the Hawks if Winslow isn't going to the Hawks.

Teague, Horford for Howard = rip off.

Teague, Horford for Howard, Winslow = Solid trade. Its basically swapping Howard for Horford and the Teague for Winslow.

If there is in fact talks between the three teams, there is absolutely no reason for Miami to be involved.

Hawks are taking Houston's player. Why not just deal exclusively together.

Morey needs to work some trades to bring back draft picks by shedding Jones/Brewer/Lawson, then go back to Atlanta saying Howard and any of these picks. Heck, spruce up KJ while you're on that phone.

Would make sense on the surface for them to hold onto Whiteside and Winslow at all costs. They aren't going anywhere without Bosh.

The only think we could do to compete with the Warriors right now is sign KD.

I do think the core I listed could compete with OKC and SAS.

As for why miami is involved in that alleged trade is winslow. Without winslow theres no deal.

Howard, Thornton, Dekker and a future 1st for Horford and Teague. Is that enough?
