The only team the proposed trade makes sense for is Miami. Whiteside is worthless to us, Dragic is on a big, long term deal that he's underperforming, and Anderson has negative value. Dwight's expiring is worth more to us than that package.

Conversely, how does Dwight to Atlanta for Teague and Horford make sense for Atlanta? Only way they do it is if Winslow is involved.

Wow I've agreed partially with a lot but this is spot on.

Why in the world is Winslow's name being thrown around? Dwight and Whiteside are nearly a match alone. Even in contract situation. Yet some people here are demanding Winslow? We'd probably have to include Ariza and DMo to even get the phone call to get through.

While I agree that would be a bad deal for Atlanta, that was the same thing for them in that person's tweet. So if they are making a bad deal for Howard, why would it matter if they send Horford and Teague to us (the way I would want it) or to Miami (the way that tweet said).

Hardens not getting traded for anything short of Curry, KD, lebron or maybe Anthony Davis and I'm not even sure the rockets would make the Davis trade.

No point in posting silly stuff like harden trades because everyone knows that's never going to happen. He's moreys guy and on top of that one of the top player in the entire league. Guys that put up 28/7/6 effeciently don't grow on trees. There actually quite rare seeing as only about 7 other players in league history have even done it.

Also, Wade just flat out isn't very good anymore. He can't shoot and now he can't get to the rim and finish.

Well then tell Miami to look elsewhere for an 8x all star granted on the decline while they unload their worst contract.

Riley is impatient. If Morey says no deal with no Winslow and Riley REALLY wants Dwight this season (because honestly, the Cavs don't look that great so far and a team with DWade, Bosh and Dwight may be able to beat them in 7) then he will do it if he believes it gives the Heat a shot at a title in the next few years.

That guy said they were asking for winslow. Theres the value. However even winslow is not enpugh difference.
Trade value ( not player value):
    Horford> Howard
    Teague>>>>Howard

Thats why this trade would never happen. Atlanta has multiple teams interested in Teague and Horford. We arent the only bidders.

Didn't Isola said Dwight to the Celtics? This would be current news if he is now talking about the Heat.

Most of the miami games i have watched this year (10+) wade was excellent so no clue whar you are talking about. Only in one he was bad when miami didnt have dragic AND uldrich and used the rookie johnson as the pg.

Yeah that trade idea is broken. Hawks get totally ripped off, Rockets pay for Heat to get Teague for free while taking back Dragic. No thanks.

Here's a tweaked idea of that trade

    Howard, Ariza, Beverley to Hawks

Teague, Deng, Splitter, Whiteside to Rockets

    Horford, Thornton to Heat.

Rockets then flip Splitter, Brewer and KJ at the deadline or in the off season to open up a ridiculous amount of cap space.

I was talking about the Rockets getting Dragic and Whiteside.

I like Horford as a 5 in the modern NBA, but not especially concerned with Teague...... I don't really think that Teague is all that good.

Is Melo really as broken as Dwight is? At least stats wise he seems to be putting up some nice, well-rounded numbers this year.

I think that for me, I have a hard time fairly analyzing any of these trades because the reality is that I watch Rockets basketball, and almost nothing else. I'm just not familiar enough with where other guys are with their games to make a fair and honest evaluation of talent. I suspect the same is true for most of us.

I'm going to cross fingers on both hands, and at a low volume hesitantly give this a, "In Morey we trust..."

Either way, that's not the same as confirming anything. They're just trying to repeat what someone else said.

I agree that Riley is impatient and that is a factor. He probably won't be around when Miami has to give up those 1st rounders to the Suns.

That said, I don't think they move Winslow. UNLESS they feel confident they could get Durant in the offseason. That to me is the only way.

I'm told Rockets, Heat, Hawks discussing 3-way. Howard to ATL, Horford and Teague to Mia, Dragic and Whteside, Anderson to Hou.
— Adam Spolane (@AdamSpolane) February 15, 2016

This guy (no idea if legit or not, but my BS meter seems to be pretty high) was the one that mentioned Atlanta sending out Teague and Horford for just Howard. No mention of them asking for Winslow. That, admittedly, is a bad deal for Atlanta, but that's where the thought of Howard for Horford/Teague came up.

One more reason I doubt that trade will go through is that all 3 teams seem to be in the same position of contending. None of us are contenders right now but would strongly prefer to be in the next 1-3 years, with Miami having the oldest core.

A team setting up for contention doesn't trade well with another team looking to do the same. Everyone is trying to come on top in terms of talent in short term contract management.

melo has been on the decline for a significant amount of time especially after all his knee injuries.
