MLB is the only major sport that can do an All-Star game right. It's hard to fake baseball. You don't see pitchers lobbing the ball across the plate so the hitter can hit a grand slam.
Exactly. & it means something. Winning side gets Homefield Advantage in the World Series. NBA needs to do the same. The game would be very competitive.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to see lockdown defense. I want to see stars and superstars go for flashy dunks and long range threes.

Agreed. The only way it's to give them some incentive. Otherwise it will never change I wonder if the NBA actually thinks many ppl enjoy this crap.
That's what the three point shoot out, and the dunk contest is for on Saturday night. I don't even watch the game, because it's just boring. I think fans would love to see a real game.

The audience is bigger on a network channel. Do none of the networks want the AS weekend / game? Regardless, even though viewership is nowhere near as good as it was like, 10-15 years ago, they're still getting a ridiculous amount of eyeballs in their target audience, which brings in revenue. Even though the scores each year go ridiculously high (like 150s), the game still gets competitive in the last few minutes. With the exception of this year, of course.
It's not an NBA All-Star concert without being flanked by really hot dancers in skimpy outfits, did not fit Sting at all.
