Lawson seems to not even care at all. Especially since it's his contract year!! In a few months he will be looking for a new employer. Which team and GM will see these and be fine to add them on their team with a big long guaranteed contract when he looks like a time bomb?

And it sure proves that his issues with perfomance this year is not from quitting the booze.

I think the probabillity of him getting it mentally is very small.
There is athleticism. There is shooting stroke. But when the one thing that ties them all together, the brain doesn't get it..
At least if he ever manages to become an average defender, instead of one of the worst, he could be a starter caliber sg for some non championship level team.

Ty Lawson the basketball player will be getting released after the trade deadline if no deal presents itself that makes sense for the Rockets. I'm not into making bets on the site usually, but I'd put money down that he's not on the team come March 1st.

Back to drinking could be a good sign for Ty. Still, with hindsight being 20-20, the warning signs should've been enough for us not to sign him and definitely not get our hopes up. I'm glad I didn't.

Not necessarily. Because his 2016-17 salary is NON-GUARANTEED (as opposed to being a team option), Lawson's contract remains an interesting trade chip for the period from the end of the season until the draft (after which time his salary would become guaranteed). Morey might hold onto Lawson just so his contract could facilitate a big pre-draft trade.

 

That is true. Forgot about draft trades, but still point being I think the franchise is more concerned about Lawson the contract than Lawson the person or player (of course they want him clean I'm sure but I would guess that they are just hoping something doesn't come out again on their watch) at this point. It's a shame but the sooner they can move on the better.
