Does a package of Capela + Lawson get a Teague in return is the question. ESPN believed that was a fair offer. They also thought Lawson + Jones centered package was fair for Ryan Anderson and Jrue. If either of those trades were possible, our outlook would drastically change. Does DMO or Capela net a Marcus Smart?

Not sure whether you saw but Harden also said "I had a long talk with the big fella and we are going to make this work after the all star break."

About the only offers I'd entertain for dwight would be a ridiculously favorable ATL trade and maybe a Boston one

Boston - Lee's expiring and at least two of Bradley/Smart/multiple 1sts .. preferably bradley and smart i think , unless we can get a top 8 ish pick.

ATL- Horford and Teague/schroeder ... I'm less in love with this one actually. Because horford is a big contract we are locked into and if it doesn't work with that trio we wont be able to change it up for a while. Also i dont htink ATL does it.

With Boston we are gonna have to play wierd this year but we might be able to do it. I was super high on Smart and Bradley is aces defensively. James and those 2 is a fearsome backcourt for a long time. You can get away with playing all 3 at the same time too .

BUt in all i'd rather not trade Howard unless we are getting tremendous future value. Also DMO was a huge part of our team and if healthy going forward is a serious player. Beverley,James,Ariza,DMO,and dwight is a serious lineup and if the FO thinks that there is a good chance we can get that lineup healthy its prolly worth a shot to stand pat with those guys and try and trade lawson and jones etc...

So, Dwight not being moved but he will end up in Dallas next season. Cuban and Fegan are best of friends and Dwight was supposed end up in Dallas because of Fegan's friendship with Cuban. Rockets will be left with nothing in return like the Lakers.

I would do lawson+jones for Anderson and holiday in a heartbeat. If that deal is really on the table the potential payoff is huge.

    Howard/capela
    Anderson/dmo
    Ariza/brew
    Harden/thornton
    Holiday/bev

With the way holiday has been playing that's a Nasty team if they can catch a rythem and chemistry heading into the playoffs. They could beat any team in the west besides Golden state.

i hope they are planning on being sellers. to be out of the playoffs at this point in the season, over the LT, and with an older than average roster... this doesn't sound like a team that should be buyers right now.

i'm guessing brewer, bev, lawson and dmo have next to no value and will end the season with the rockets. if we can get a mid first for ariza and a late first for TJ it would be a good trade deadline.

Wait what? That's a NO BRAINER deal.

Why in the world would New Orleans do that?

With today's salary cap, sometimes getting nothing back is actually a good deal. Let's you spend the money just where you want to, rather than picking up pieces that may not be your first choices...and potentially getting strapped to them for a while. This is why players with expiring contracts are such a hot commodity...they are just temporary throwins, still leaving a team with financial flexibility in the offseason.

Couldn't help but notice when Codman said "I don't know if it will come to fruition" that he didn't use they. Is Morey negotiating primarily with one team?

Now Codman's usual team references are: Washington, Chicago, and Brooklyn. I also could've sworn he hinted at Sacramento. I mean that's not a surprise considering their one of Morey's favorite trade partners. Also he did mention Phoenix was having a fire sale which is obvious but should be noted.

True, I just hope Morey can get the team the much needed help at the PF and PG positions. Hate to see the season go to waste.

Sorry but you are wrong. With the cap rise expirings have lost significant value than 2-3 years ago.( along with the new CBA that made contracts not as long and saved GMs from themselves).

Plus this FA class sucks , everyone and their mother except the Cavs will have millions of capspace..why want expirings?

of course we the Rockets do because we have the delusion we can attract Durant. But other teams who don't, for them expirings are not worth that much.
That's why Lawson is still a part of this team.
