Its absolute nonsense. There is no imaginary benchmark that says we can't add guys to the Rockets unless they have had success elsewhere or they have carried a team.
If we did the trade for Griff . . .. wouldn't we have to take Jordan well . . i mean . . .wouldn't the clips have to move him no way in hell Dwight and Jordan can be on the court together and Jordan nor Dwight will be good off the bench . . too much pride Rocket River
The "imaginary benchmark" is common sense. Absolute nonsense is what your crusade to defend Harden regardless of the facts has been.
Heh. But I'll address the rest of the post. We can come back to this. This season, yes. They've failed to meet expectations. Different version of Dwight, and James wasn't really a leader on that Thunder squad, but regardless that's irrelevant to this season's failure. Again, irrelevant to this year's failed season. He was healthy and had a talented roster for exactly one season in Minnesota, Adelman was barely involved with the team that year, and how talented that team really was is highly questionable. In fact, calling that team 'very talented' is a classic example of hyperbole. Here was their starting lineup: PG - Rubio (elite passer, great at getting steals, useless in almost every other category) SG - Kevin Martin (the original Fool's Gold, never made the playoffs as a full-time starter) SF - Corey Brewer (lol) PF - Love C - Pekovic (useless protecting the rim, barely played in the second half of the season) And their bench was crap. They still had a 48-34 expected W/L and were abnormally unlucky in close games. The next year they won 16 games. How did he fail? Love was asked to be the #3 option on a championship contender. He put up 17/10 as the #3 option on championship contender. The Cavs forced him to spend more time away from the basket than he ever has in his career, which hurt his FG%, but he was productive in the role. Then Olynyk pulled his arm out of the socket in the playoffs. Here's what it solves: You get rid of a guy who's reportedly leaving at the end of the year if we don't offer him the max (and we won't because we shouldn't). You replace him with a younger player who will have 4 more years left on his deal after this one, who's made two All-NBA teams, and who will net us a better return from a middling-or-worse team than a guy on an expiring deal who can't be a featured player on offense and whose body is breaking down. It's the best return that we're going to get. Verdict: FALSE
Question is, what moves would follow this? We know we're going to need a ton of defense around Love and Harden. Our window opens up some, but we'd still need to make these changes in under 2 years or less.
K, here's the thing. Kevin Love can't play defense but he can rebound the ball with the best of them. This team doesn't play defense anyway and that isn't likely to change any time soon. Howard isn't playing that great of defense now either. Love also is a pretty good 3 pt shooter. This team loves to jack up 3's but has no one besides Harden who can hit them. It could work. It's worth a shot.
Obviously Durant is priority #1 this offseason, pipe dream or not. That said, I think a lot depends on Capela's development and who we bring in as coach. Though first we'd have to figure out how well Harden and Love work together. I actually think that offensively, Love can do everything that Nick Collison did, so I think they'd work together great. And the attractive thing about a guy like Love is he really can be a go-to guy on offense, which would remove Harden's excuses for loafing on D. I don't see why Les would let Morey blow it up now when he didn't in 2010. That's something we always have to keep in the back of our heads. All evidence suggests that Les would rather be mediocre than terrible. Whether or not you agree with that, it has to be kept in mind.
Can someone explain to me why we would want Kevin Love? Salaries aside I wouldnt even give up Trevor for Love. I dont feel he is worth the max. If we build around Harden, I dont like Love. He is injured, bad at defense, and seems like he is a dramatic locker room figure on a max contract.
would you rather have two late firsts Or kevin love OR.. nothing? Because if you want nothing you can have it. I sure hope Morrey doesn't choose that option.
Lolz k you got me on that one. This is all irrelevant to Kevin Love. My point in saying that wasn't to analyze James and Dwight. I was using it as a basis to try and comprehend the awesome logic of the general posters on clutchfans who have been b****ing for months about the deficiencies of the star players on this team, yet want a guy who will be a worse version of "more of the same." 1)Love is injury prone. Add that to the list of reasons why I don't want him here. 2) That team is "very talented" - relative to getting the 8th seed in the playoffs. They should have accomplished that. The list of excuses you just provided is hilarious. Adelman>>>>>>>Bickerstaff Rubio>Bev Harden>>>>>>Martin Brewer(min)>>>>Brewer (this season) Pek>Capela Love(min)>Love(now) Both benches suck. This is a negative move. A line-up of: Bev Harden Brewer Love Capela Not sure how anyone thinks that would be anything other than a disaster. I get that some of you think he can be flipped later on down the road if it doesn't work out. That seems like risky logic. He's been unable to effectively integrate into Cleveland's team and the Cavs have severely underperformed as a result. There's no reason that Chris Bosh was able to be so important to the Heat in the same role and Love has failed at it other than Love is overrated. I disagree. Again, Kevin Love's stock is falling. There's no reason to think he'll magically turn it around and somehow become a winner when he's never been one. He doesn't play a shred of defense and teams know this. The guy is a stat padder. Lol @ you criticizing and labeling Martin "fool's gold" (which he is) for never making the playoffs as "the man" yet turning around and not applying the same criterion to Love. Just lol. Minnesota already sold high on the "fool's gold" It's not gonna happen again, especially when you're locked into 4 more years with him on that contract. Mm no.
all Klove will do when he gets here is pout. he's done it before when he was on the wolves and he'll do it again if we're losing.
How far do you really think Capela is from being at the level Dwight's at now? Not a "gotcha", just an honest question.
