[2016 Election] Do you guys think the Mainstream Media is trying to blackball Trump and Sanders?

Neither candidate is getting anything remotely similar to the Ron Paul treatment from the mainstream media. Has ANY candidate ever gotten more coverage than Donald Trump?

If anyone's 'blackballing' those guys, it's their respective parties.

 

Uhh Trumps popularity is predominately from the media attention. All the other Republican candidates are just boring and uninteresting.

Clinton was expected to dominate, so naturally she will get the attention.

Anything TV/Entertainment related only cares for one thing; Viewership. Not results or quality.

And no, the Republican and Democrat party is is not going anywhere. Their candidates and party platform might change, but again, both party only cares about power and votes, not results or quality.

But the two female moderators on the PBS debate that's happening right now, Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff, are clearly giving Hillary a harder time because they're afraid of being accused for being biased in favor of another woman.

 

I only voted yes because they still send out pundits who are straight up denying what is actually happening

 

Trump and Sanders are being pushed back by their respective establishment bases. For instance, Hillary paraded old crusty white women against Sanders. Today, she used old crustry black men.

The MSN is not the problem.

 

Blackballed by party leadership which is going against their own members. We need a mutiny.

I hope so, want to know why the Electoral college exists and Senators were elected by state legislatures, here it is. Goldberg could turn out to be Thomas Jefferson: pragmatic, intelligent and experienced enough to address tangible, practical administrative and structural issues with all parties, coalitions, regions and corporate stakeholders, he could also die a week in office or prioritize winning arguments and getting applause at rallies over getting things done.

Trump's marriages don't provide great optics, but just like "draft dodging" since Quayle it's been a nuisance issue since Gary Hart, and I would love to see voters and the press finally neutralize it. Unfortunately Trump is basically Warren G. Harding or Andrew Johnson in that he will either openly commit or attract government fraud, or provoke it from legislators or bureaucrats who don't want him anywhere near an FBI task force, CIA briefing, federal budget or diplomatic or arms summit.

 

New cracks in the edifice, but glad to see one of those trains is right on time.

Yes, that's why they asked no questions about the 150+ agents conducting 2 seperate FBI investigations surrounding her emails and the Clinton Foundation.

No. Trump is getting outsized media coverage and after winning New Hampshire Bernie Sanders is getting a lot of media attention. The 24 hour news cycle and abundance of other media sources means that no single or handful of news organizations can just ignore candidates doing well in the polls. They are going to want to give them coverage just out of competition from other sources.

I think Trump is well aware of this and has used it to his advantage.

Donald Trump gets media attention whenever he wants it.

Everyone likes an under dog and right now the Socialist from Vermont is adored by the media.

It is truly absurd, and I'm pretty surprised at the voting.

Trump has had more media coverage than any primary candidate since Gary Hart unraveled. Most of it is pretty fair, just letting him get his own words out there. It is alarmingly non-critical, since many of his statements have no substance and many others are nearly if not purely hateful. But they just roll his latest appearance, free of charge.

And Bernie is getting plenty of coverage too. The media loves seeing Hillary battling, on the ropes, against an upstart. The script writes itself.

They are both the opposite of "black-balled," even if a small percentage of the coverage is (rightfully, I'd say) negative.

 

I was working a weekend shift in Omaha a few years back and one of the security guards came up and started talking with me. Older guy, and like anyone else in that part of the country, pretty much spent his whole life in farm work: riding horses to school every day, burning down a house so you can sell the land, that kind of stuff. At some point, he starts suggesting that I buy some land and hire tenant farmers, because I can get it cheap at auction. I tell him I'd worry about looking like an outsider, he says not to worry because "Abe" was buying up land all over the place.
