Yes you do it. Won't need Ariza anyway when Durant signs in the summer. After I did this I'd package up Bev, Brewer, Jones, DMo, and Lawson for expirings or Teague if we could get him.
WHAT? No Dwight Howard Appreciation thread yet? Before we get excited at who we might get, let me just say I'm sad it didn't work out for the Big Fella here in HOU. I know this is the best behavior he's been in in all his teams, he loved the city, just tried to fit in. The goofy fun-loving big guy, showing up in the playoffs, teaming up so well with his AAU teammate (haha) Josh Smith until Josh injured his knee :-( You could have chosen GSW and ended up a champion. That's what I'm sad about. Thank you for choosing the Rockets. Thank you for a few years of good vibes and high hopes. Stay classy, BIG FELLA. I know you learned a lot too from your time here. And remember HOU with fond memories. It's just one of those things that you can't anticipate--you and Harden's games don't mesh. ... Ok, who can we get?
I would be really conflicted in this scenario...Love at this point is clearly a bit overrated, he sucks bad on D, but he's still a very good offensive fit for us, he's still young and on a good contract for today standars...honestly, i would try my best to keep Ariza, even if we'll sign KD, Trevor could be huge for us as sixth man (ala Iguodala) and in a small line up to finish some games...give em Brewer and/or Jones, Thornton instead.
Our defense already sucks. The problem is systemic, and no trade involving getting rid of Dwight is going to fix things this year. It's not like Love is any worse than Jones on D. LeBron and Love aren't the issue. It's Kyrie. Love's positives can't out weigh his negatives when he's relegated to the #3 option on a team where he's already kind of a funky fit. What's the harm in spending half a year trying to see if Love and Harden can work together? If they can't, you trade Love in the offseason. We're going to need to take some salary back if we're going to move Dwight's $22M contract. Might as well go for an All-NBA guy.
Kevin Love is garbage. He couldn't take a talented Minny team to the playoffs. That's straight up pathetic. Guy has been a loser his entire NBA career. I'll never understand this forum's infatuation with the guy. Dwight to Atlanta would yield some good complementary pieces. Dwight to Boston could get some nice young talent. There are other scenarios. Kevin Love is low on the tier list.
Ridiculous and absurd. Kevin Love is a great player in a bad situation. You guys really need to start appreciating guys for what they can bring and not what they are lacking.
I think we should just settle on DMo and see how he pans out Younger .. Cheaper. . .and probably get the same productivity Defensely . . . .I doubt there is much difference Proper coaching can elevate DMO IMO Rocket River
Okay buddy. He's apparently been in a bad situation his entire career. Or maybe... He's just not that good. We can do better for a "prime" (and I use that loosely) Dwight.
Yes. And probably will also have to take varejao instead of mozgov to be equal value. Then a) try to incorporate love b) try to pitch durant with two stars in the roster c) if you get durant great d) if you dont get durant see if a team with harden and love is viable and if not trade him for picks and start the rebuild.
It's a car-sized pothole in the road. There is no reason why he would jake an injury in his contract year. Unless he hates money and wants to sabotage the Rockets.
