I hope not the Rockets need to make moves and Howard is all but out of H-Town in his head.

Let's avoid this constant mediocrity harden will provide and start over. Send harden to lal for Russell randle and picks hopefully they're in top 3 and we can get this pick from them, and send Howard to Boston for nets pick and whatever they will give start over with a young team tank our season and rebuild cause I don't think harden can carry a team to a championship with his mentality

That's crazy, I briefly thought about this exact scenario like 2 or 3 days ago. Then I realized it could set up the next Lakers dynasty if Harden lures Durant to LA.

Deals with Masai and Ainge will be very difficult to make.
Morrey will NOT win with them. It will be at best equal value. Don't expect to rob Boston or Toronto.
Also Boston will NOT trade many win now pieces for Dwight. If they get Dwight it is to win now..they can't trade their win now pieces and create more holes. It will be for mediocre picks and maybe ONE player. At best.

That's why I think we should start calling INDY. Hill is perfect for Harden.

George Hill would be great if we were trying to add that final piece to a championship core. We need foundation pieces to build around. At 29, George Hill wouldn't be it.

Aren't we under the cap enough to sign both Whiteside and Durant? I'm counting 46.9 million guaranteed for next year and the projected cap is $89 mil. We'd only need to move one or two contracts to fit both.

I have a feeling Howard will be taking his game to South Beach.

Yes he would. The perfect pg we need. How is that not a foundation piece?
29 is not that old especially for someone with Hill's style of play.

They Rockets aren't contending for a title this year, and Dwight is obviously going to walk for more $ (which the Rockets are smart to not want to pay the max).

I don't think anyone WANTS to trade him, but it probably needs to happen among other moves (Lawson traded or waived, Brewer moved, etc).

    Agree.

We are currently 27th in the league for opponents points in the paint.

Opponents are shooting 49.7% with Howard defending the shot within 5 feet of the basket.

Overall, on shots where Howard is defending, players are shooting +0.5% over their normal FG%. For comparison purposes, here's the difference when other centers are defending the shot:

    Capela -1.6, Duncan -6.2,Bogut -5.6, Adams -4.8, P. Gasol -4.7,A. Davis -4.2, Mozgov -4.1, Porzingis -3.5, Whiteside -3.5, M. Gasol -3.3,Favors -3.1,
    D. Jordan -2.1, B.Lopez -3, Gobert -2.8, Biyombo -1.7, Cousins -1.5, Sullinger -1.2, Gortat -1.1,Kanter -0.9, Towns -0.6,M. Leonard -0.6,J. Okafor -0.2

His defensive numbers are down and he's in the lower half of the starting centers in the league percentage wise. He is still an elite rebounder though.

By no means is Howard a below average defender but he's no where near the elite defender he once was. Unfortunately, nowdays he's closer to an average defender than an above average one.

The same is true for Ariza and Beverley, both have been average on defense this season. Part of the problem is that we start 3 players who are better on the defensive end of the floor but all 3 have been close to average this year.
We have too many players on the roster that have been average to below averge on both sides of the ball this season.
