I was with Clutch when he wrote this. But man, it's getting difficult to stick with Howard at this point.

Is he for real with this? They need to be talking about what's broken so they can correct it. This is just such an immature stance. Maybe Kobe's right about Dwight. He just doesn't get it.

"Can't we all just get along?" doesn't cut it. You have to be able to accept criticism and adjust.

what's wrong with what howard said? There's a huge difference between being straight negative and giving up compared to acknowledging flaws and trying to correct them. Now we don't know the full context of negativity he is referring to but I see nothing wrong with what he's saying. As of this moment the negativity of this current team looks like it has just reached the point of giving up and it has trickled down to the entire team.

Did Dwight tank the rest of the Portland game or something? From what I saw, Dwight was the only one who was playing well and what looked like with good effort in the first quarter. His low post game was actually working.

Is trading Dwight really an answer to anything? Or, is it just going to leave a gaping hole that cannot be filled?

Well, of course, it's hard to say without hearing the underlying conversations. But, it seems like he's lumping all criticism/observations into "negative."

I still can't get past how crazy this season has been. There were some analysts projecting the Rockets to make the Finals, and now this...

This just came over the wire from Adrian Wojnarowski:

Sources: Rockets contacting teams about trading Dwight Howard
Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical By Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical

    Yahoo Sports

The Houston Rockets have started contacting teams about trading eight-time All-Star Dwight Howard, league sources told The Vertical.

Howard, 30, plans to exercise an opt-out in his contract this summer to become an unrestricted free agent, and uncertainty surrounding the commitment both sides are willing to make has pushed Houston general manager Daryl Morey toward seeking potential trades on the market, league sources said.

The NBA’s trade deadline is Feb. 18.

The Rockets are working with Howard’s agent, Dan Fegan, on possible destinations, league executives told The Vertical.

Howard is believed to be seeking a maximum contract extension in July.

The Rockets have struggled to a 27-28 start to the season, including a 116-113 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night.

Upon leaving the Los Angeles Lakers in 2013, Howard signed a four-year, $88 million contract with the Rockets. The deal included a player option for the 2016-17 season.

In other words, Howard's inability to make FTs has led to this.

Next starting center...required to make FTs with a minimum FG% of 70.0 or thereabouts.

We're not doing hack-a-BS EVER AGAIN! AND, STOP SMILING SO MUCH HOWARD! ;)

It should be noted neither the Spurs (5 championships) - nor the Warriors (one and counting) had contentious locker rooms. In fact I'd argue their locker rooms tend to be more Dwight culturally then Kobe. More a blend really. Serious, but not uncomfortable. The same can be said of the Rockets 2 championships.

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

That said, this is stop #3 now where it seems like something isn't clicking culturally and mentally with Dwight as far as leading a group of guys to a championship... so Kobe's perception was probably right, even if Kobe's way isn't the only way.

    The sad truth

Harden's a self absorbed diva and we're stuck with him because he's the best we can get.

Kind of like being in an unhappy marriage with a diva wife..

Sounds like us. Borderline playoff, borderline bad team.

We need to blow this up. If we're not good enough to get past 1st round, which isn't happening if we're seeds 6-8, then blow it up and start over.
