What? Actually in a situation like this, I take this meeting as a positive note. When the s#$% hits the fan with a team like this, when do you ever see BOTH leaders of the team, the GM, and the HC putting their heads together like this to actually deal with whatever situations they are having? Usually its a passive nature with these guys. Especially the players. The brass for the Rockets are putting their heads together to actually acknowledge and handle their team's issues. I actually find that to be positive regardless of what the issues are. ............ That being said the issues could be/are probably big enough to result in changes.... like major changes.... but that shouldn't be some crazy revelation. The whole world can watch this team live and see them.
Harden and Howard don't fit! Howard slows the game down and Harden wants to run and gun. To get the ball into Dwight, it takes at minimum 3 passes and it slows the game down. Dwight is not Hakeem! He isn't as efficient, so you are not maximizing your scoring opportunities (has anyone notice, whenever Dwight scores over 25 points, we lose!). The game has changed, this is why the Warriors are winning. They have three consistent scores in the starting lineup and two consistent scores on the bench.....everyone else has 2 max! Harden wants to play more like the Warriors but we don't have the shooters. Ariza, Brewer, Thorton and Beverly are all inconsistent. The Rockets need to make the difficult decision to trade Dwight. Bring in an effective center, Moskov from Cleveland. Add a REAL POINT GUARD, like Jeff Teague and watch the Rockets take off.
Harden - "My frustration is boiling over." BJ - "@#)$*#!" Dwight - "Calm down. We're the 9th seed."
There's no telling what it was. It could be that the two leaders of the team wanted to talk about management about the problems and what they can do to fix them going forward.
If I was on the team security would have to be called after every game cause I would cuss out JB and probably try to fight him Another game where Brewer plays PF and we lose Smith and harrel played a combined 11 minutes compared to Brewer playing 23mim at PF and ariza getting time at the 4 too. Brewer is basically useless on D at the 4 JB is a ****ing joke. How has team member not blown up on him for his weird(sexual?) obsession with Brewer
Morey told Howard and Harden that they will trade for the Morris twins, and they will kick your ass if you guys don't start winning.
The only thing they should be discussing is Harden's decision making under pressure. He always waits for the high points of the game to start doing stupid shyyte. Harden is the problem here. No one else. Yes, he will get you the points, but he will also do the same for the other team. His lack of defense and bad decision making are cancelling out his scoring prowess.
You can't build around a star player that doesn't play both ends of the floor. Matter of fact he doesn't even pretend or hide it.
The Rockets are obviously a broken team. I'm sure JB is doing everything he can, but the truth is we have a few divas on the team. People blame the coach, but the players have to be accountable. I hope JB will be able to reign in the guys and get them in the right mindset, but the longer this goes on the harder it will be. I hope JB will assert his authority over these guys a lot better and I hope this meeting was a challenge to those two guys. I hope that JB makes up his mind that if someone is not giving the proper team work and effort he will put them on the bench and talk to them about it. Right now the Rockets need action not talk. Players should not be allowed to pad their stats while disrespecting the game. Yes people make mistakes, but they should be held accountable. It's the coaches job to stop the BS not just talk about it to the media. If a player doesn't listen to instructions, repeatedly throws lazy passes to the defense, refuses to get back on defense, refuses to box out, commits silly fouls, or gets back on defense but decides not to pick up the ball or any of the trailers. BENCH THEM!!!! If a player isn't playing like a champion, BENCH THEM!!!! Make it clear to the player and the team why they are being benched, and let the media make their own assumptions. This team needs to be saved from itself. If you are scared to bench Harden or Howard, make them the coach. Have Harden sit next to you on the bench and talk to you for a few minutes about how important it is to take care of the ball and ask him how to get the team to take better care with the ball every time he turns it over. Call a timeout and let While you are talking to him, put in someone who will take care of the ball and hustle on D. Its frustrating that this is happening, but its more frustrating that the team, players, and coach are all allowing this to happen.
Not trying to spew optimism here, but just a thought... Are we sure the devide is between Harden and Howard? From what I can tell Dwight gets frustrated with everyone not getting it to him when his guy is sealed, not just harden. And when we are playing well, they seem to get along well. Is it possible that both all 4 were discussing guys to target at the deadline? Not "one of us has to go"?
