This really baffles me. All the talk about Les willing to spend yet he refuses to pick up a new coach? I know we still owe Mchale money but at this point is keeping JB going to attract any free agents? This almost seems like a clever tactic to tank like the Spurs did.
Coaches wouldn't want to harm their rep when they fail to coach this team successfully. Especially more so without an off-season to tinker with the roster.
Why is it baffling? Do you see anyone else getting a new coach? It's not uncommon at all...coaches dont like to come in rushed to dig a team out of a hole..thats not a recipe for success And FWIW..doc.rocket tweeted theyre going to use vacancy as leverage to try and get a star..which makes total sense.
this. no coach is going to come in at this point in the season. might as well wait till the off-season and get time to instill philsophy / culture etc. Coach is not simply a tactician.
It's not Morey. It's a bad financial decision that basically no owner in the league would make. Then on top of that, echo what others have said that no one wants to take over a team midseason.
My Thoughts are because Les doesn't want to pay McHale and another coach, so they went with the cheap option with JBB. DD
Exactly. Those who want are desperate for a job and not the greatest candidates. George Karls of NBA.
You're gonna fire a coach after he takes you to the Western Conference Finals forthe first time in 19 years? In hindsight, McHale shouldn't have been fired at all. He could coach circles around this scrub, JB.
It's baffling to me that people can't understand why it's hard and usually a bad decision to hire a permanent coach mid season. It's not rocket science.
The NBA is players's league. Players need to be held accountable. At no point does any coach say "just give me 50% on defensive, that's all I asking".
