I guess it's all about da money. DMo have earned like 5M in his career? He can't afford as much as Dwight could.

Oh dear god. So many crazy posts in this page. Disturbingly similar with LOFs too.
Blame the coach for dmos reinjury. Dmo is in dleague because he likes bball- not for rehab.he doesnt care abott money but he cares about the Olympics.

    Crazy.

    So what's DMo's status?

I always felt through the years that our best chemistry was when DMo was on the floor. Not likely that he would turn this team around if her was healthy, but he would certainly help in our ball movement, post up, and chemistry issues.

Short of a blockbuster trade, I have a hard time seeing this team turn it around. The talent is there, but it appears the heart is gone.

Yes, but has there been any word on his targeted return to the Rockets?

Has he looked good w/ the RGV?

I was unable to watch the last 3 games and wasn't sure if it was discussed by Bull and Bill.

Yes he's looked very decent. He said he wanted to play about 5-7 games down there. Has played 3-4 I believe.

    Yesterday.

Hard to tell from highlights that only show his good plays. From stats, looks like he had his worst game to date. Only 7pts in a high scoring game. Did have 7 Assists. But the 5 fouls and 6 TOs is something I'm hoping he cleans up down there.

Stats in the dleague are pretty meaningless. It's good that they crank up the speed down there so he can get used to running up and down at a more rapid pace. We need him 100 percent so freaking bad.

I have been saying he is the key to turning this season around.

I agree. Just saying running up and down the court is not everything when it comes to getting to game speed and knocking off rust.

High TOs and PFs can be indicative of rustiness and exhaustion.

Please. Can we all stop with the "keys to turning the season around." How many false keys are we going to describe this season. It's like the bbs is up to a dozen keys now, all had their chance, yet none did anything to turning anything around.

And your key is so transparently agenda-ridden it says more about you than Rockets reality.

We just suck. There is no, one-single player that can change that. If we have a turnaround, it will be because ALL the players play with a sense of urgency, and everyone starts playing playoff intensity defense, right now for 48 minutes, in the regular season. And stop the damn turnovers. We have to play that far out of our minds (48 minutes of playoff intensity defense every game) to overcome all our shortcomings. And we'd still need top rate 3pt shooting to win any playoff series.

The point being is that he is a TEAM oriented player, who also plays great positional defense, and when we can't hit an outside shot, he is MONEY on the post.

He adds dynamics we don't have right now and is a true stretch 4 that shoots a good 3 ball.

One player that FITS the team can vastly improve it.

He is the key - let's hope he gets healthy and we can get back to winning.

Only to idiots who think there is any agenda other than what I think is good for the Rockets.

Again.. i LOVE D-Mo and want to retain him this Summer, but let's PLEASE STOP putting the pressure on D-Mo to save the season, or that he somehow could have been the difference maker this year. Its not fair to put all that on him. Let's please try to be honest about our players for once.

Also note - Mike Dunleavy just came back the other day from back surgery he had in the Summer as well. He's also not 7 foot tall without the challenges that come with big men coming back from injury & dealing with the issues around conditioning that bigs have to deal with. Expecting much from D-Mo this year wasn't fair to begin with. We should have been more knowledgeable about back surgery & 7 footers, and hoped for D-Mo and org to allow for patience to not rush him out too quick.

    .....

On a separate note, man that D-League defense... you might as well be looking at a clip of players doing drills in an open gym.

What pressure, I am not saying he is going to come in and do anything more than play a role, but the RIGHT role player can make all the difference.

DMo is that guy on this team.

You know why we won all those games last year? DMo was a big key.....when Dwight was out we had the same record as when he was in.....

DMo adds another dimension to this team - a threat on both ends.....he makes the TEAM much better on defense and harder to guard on offense.

All he needs to do is move his body, move the ball, play solid D, and hit some shots, and when the team is cold play in the post.....doesn't need to be great, just a good solid role player is all we need.

Agreed that he was that important, but the point is the D-Mo of last year won't be there coming back from back surgery like he has. People here are going to think that he's going to come right off the bench and be the guy he was for that stretch last year. That's just not going to happen.... probably till he gets another offseason of work to continue to rehab, and start the season off in training camp.

We are smarter than this DD. We have a long history of NBA players (big men especially) who weren't right the season after coming off of major surgery like this.... and the ones who are 7 foot tall should be given more patience. The team rushing D-Mo out there (and D-Mo pushing himself too hard/taking charges right away etc) was a mistake.

It's just going to take time to get him back, and the Rockets DO NOT have the kind of time left this season to waste. I just don't think we should come out here preaching that D-Mo is our savior. There are too many (lesser knowledgeable) people here who will actually buy into it and get all upset when D-Mo struggles to get his bearings.

D-Mo is a big part of the future IMO, but in the present I think we need to let the current group shoulder the load of digging themselves out or digging an early grave to the season.

    Just my 2 cents.

DMO looks like he bulked up a bit during rehab time. in these 'rehab' highlights DMO looks just bigger faster stronger than the d league counterparts.

DMo should be sent to some other D team. Vipers is a joke, DMo will not achieve anything on that team. Vipers style of play absolutely doesn't fit DMo's game.
