It's not hyping anyone suggesting that they might be better than Hoyer. There's not a starting or backup QB in the NBA that isn't probably better than Brian Hoyer. Hell we picked up 2 street free agents that were better than him. We probably could have picked up 3 or 4 more street free agents that are better than him.
You told me to name someone…don't turn the tables. Russell Wilson was a 3rd rounder…is it thaaaaat much different than a 4th rounder? And like I said, AJ McCarron proved himself to be a very good QB in his few games as a starter, playing very well against the Broncos defense and almost beating Big Ben and the Steelers, if not for two idiots on his team. The dude was in the same exact draft as Savage, except taken a round later. To think that it is silly that a 4th rounder could have success is laughable. At the least, he should have been given a chance to see what he could do. Nobody is saying to anoint him the QB of the future…but the FO messed up by not giving him a chance this season.
The Texans are on the right track. As we have just seen, defense wins championships. Get your QB and keep building the defense (especially pass rush) and they should take the next step.
It's amazing how bad Wade's defense is with effective linebackers. Gosh, if Mario had stayed healthy his last year here.
I don't think the majority fans realize (care?) how freaking good that '11 team was - if Schaub had stayed healthy, with Arian in his prime and that defense... that team would have been a monster in the postseason. (Heck, they WERE a monster; beat the Bengals and damn-near beat the Ravens with TJ Yates as the QB.) Along with the 1998 and 2004 Astros, that 2011 Texan team ranks as one of the best-ever Houston teams; they were so freaking good.
