I'm not dismissing free throws. Harden apologists are dismissing his high volume of missed shots. Having an efficient efg%/tfg% and having a high volume of missed fg attempts are not mutually exclusive. People do know that missed shots are relatively easier opportunities for fastbreak points for the opponent right? Maybe PART of the Rocket's defensive owes is the relatively high volume of shots they take which also entails a higher volume of missed shots. Teams that are more efficient and when I mean 'efficient' I mean raw fg%(field goals made/field goals attempted) inherently have a lower volume of missed fgs which would be a benefit to their defense. This is all speculation based on common sense. Someone else who has more time than be can dismiss or support my notion with empirical data but I have Thermo and Diff Eq hw.
Who denies Harden misses a lot of shots? He is a high volume player. He will miss many shots. His raw FG% is not elite, but it doesn't have to be when he makes up for it in another area. Your incessant dismissal of free throws and their value regarding efficiency will always make you look foolish and outdated, despite your best attempts to deny it.
Well, you and several other "Harden is infallible' posters which keep on hounding posters who use raw fg% and state that his high volume of missed shots is a portion of the problem. Maybe part of the reason our defense sucks is that Harden along with several other players on the team miss A LOT, especially behind the 3 pt line. Long rebounds and fast break opportunities and what not. Now compound that with Harden being one of the worst defensive guards of all time, no one should believe this goof to lead the Houston Rockets to a NBA championship. He is the new Carmelo Anthony. Plain and simple. For the rest of his career he will be a high volume scorer on mediocre teams with **** defense... unless something DRASTICALLY changes.
