It's too bad. The times I saw him play as a freshman at A&M, the kid showed a lot of heart and a real burning desire to win. I thought at the time that he might be able to bring that to the NFL.

It seems clear that, right now at least, that is just not going to happen. And maybe it was mostly the result of playing QB at the same time that Mike Adams was catching his passes, who knows?

But he did something no one had done before, ever. Maybe, had his head been screwed on straight, he could have kept it together and become something really good for an NFL team.

But history is littered with people who had great expectations and then amounted to nothing at all.

Such a shame.. I remember thinking, while watching him scramble into the end-zone on a play, and how much he left on the field, I remember thinking that the Texans could sure use a guy who played like that.

    Oh well.

Get your life in order JM, and maybe you can still make something of yourself.

Key word in here is "they". Manziel's dad needs to stop being such an enabler.

It's not a good look to have your agent quit on you. Usually it's other way around. Even his agent believes that he has no future earning potential in the NFL or in terms of endorsements.

I know a lot of people like to hate Johnny. I get it and understand it. But, what we are seeing from this guy is scary. He's in a downward spiral, and it looks like no one can get through to him. If he ends up dead, some people around here may think that he got what he deserved. But, there is something wrong with Johnny. Maybe he has a mental illness. Maybe he has a substance abuse issue. But, I think it is something more than just a spoiled kid acting up. Something is wrong with this guy.

I sincerely hope he doesn't hurt himself or anyone else. It sounds like his own family has gone to great lengths to get him help. It sounds like the Cleveland Browns and his own agent have gone to great lengths to get him help. But, it now looks like everyone around him has given up on him.

What I'm wondering is what happens when he's no longer a member of any football team. Maybe he will finally see the light and he straightens himself out. Or maybe the lack of any structure in his life is the final nail in his coffin.

He's not gonna die, lulz. His parents are drama queens. Let him party if that's what he wants more.

See the light? Wake up call? HA!

LRMR, LeBron's marketing agency, cut ties
    Agent, cut ties
    Browns/NFL, about to cut ties
Any sponsorship deals, probably about to cut ties

Dad/family tries to check him into rehab. Nope.

    As Johnny says,

Maybe the AFL/CFL will take you but sorry, your NFL career is likely over.

    And sadly, here we are!

You'd like to think or believe this is "rock bottom" and the light will go off but I'm not sure.

He won the Heisman as a freshman. It made everyone believe there was greatness ahead for the kid. Especially himself.

If Harden didn't have talent. He would be another Manziel. Same lifestyle.

Get your head out of your ass... nobody here is actively "hating" on him... people are commenting on what he's actually doing. There is no agenda... other than from the people who would still like to think he could be a successful football player because he has "it".

Also, people don't go to rehab simply because "maybe they have a substance abuse issue"... he has issues. He's repeatedly either failed to respond to help or failed to seek help because he doesn't think he has a problem. People who may be giving up on him now are doing so after how many opportunities afforded him to get/seek/accept help? How many chances does he get/deserve/warrant?

So is he Bipolar like the rumors say or just an alcoholic. Isn't untreated alcoholism similar to bipolar disorder? Clutch med bros diagnosis?

Can't enjoy the schadenfreude anymore. Dude is on the Ryan Leaf/Rae Carruth express.

This is a ridiculously stupid statement. Harden doesn't have substance-abuse issues or anger issues, nor has he ever been investigated for domestic abuse charges.

Damn, he'll sue the Browns for cutting him like Sarkisian sued USC.
