JVG really thinks the Lakers job will be open this year. I heard from very credible people that two coaches that really want that job are JVG and S. Brooks. This is a fact that I am 100% certain about.

JVG in Houston is very likely. I believe if JB DOES win a playoff series, they will keep him.

I wonder if a brewer/kj/harrell for lou/bass would be possible. Saves us about 2.4m in cap space and gives us veteran bench players. Lakers would get younger prospects but who knows if they want brewers contract

So the Lakers job is sort of option A for JVG if I'm hearing you correctly? I would think that if JVG wants the Lakers the Lakers would love to have him. So that doesn't really make me feel great about a Rox/JVG reunion honestly.

But still he's already here in Houston, and knows the personnel very well. Correct me if I'm wrong but Houston sounds like option 1B and the Lakers job is 1A???

    Thanks

Wait, JVG and Brooks want to coach the Lakers?

    Keep JB as an assistant?

Some within the organization have discussed throwing Sampson an offer to leave UH as well.

Jazz have discussed Alec Burks/Booker/pick for Teague

Im Hearing Whiteside to Lakers this summer

Memphis is about to make some moves. (Rockets wouldnt mind Lee for right price)

OKC is open to moving Ibaka

Blake Griffin is seriously being shopped

    KD to GSW is overblown

Varejao is the most shopped name I can say right now - this very moment

Derozan to Lakers is also extremely probable this summer

I took it as JBB pretty much needs to win a playoff series to secure the job. At this point does that seem likely to anyone? Hell they might not even MAKE the playoffs this year if they have a rough stretch again or have an injury.

Les signing off on bringing Jeff back. That'd be...interesting to say the least.

Yeah, I've stated multiple times & never believed Les would bring him back.

J.B. & all of Kevin's assistants, sorry, they can go.

I would imagine Houston would be option A for JVG given that he already lives here and there is more talent on the Rockets than the Lakers.

    As usual, thanks!

What do you think of this deadline in general? A lot of movement? everybody trying to position themselves for the cap boom?

JVG would be nice here. I'm hoping he doesn't go to LA. I'm also skeptical about JBB as a coach here long-term. I think Thibodeau has got to be our golden goose but I don't know what shot we have at him.

no one caught this on pages 2 or 3. In case no one else did after, I need to call it out. wtf.

Separately, I love this thread. Thanks cyber. If the coach is between JB who won a playoff series or JVG, I'll be pretty happy. If JVG goes to the Lakers, I'm hopeful at that point they'll aim for Thibs (if JB didn't win)

I agree, if JVG is not that stupid.
