Ehh you are aware that we actually got further than the second round last year right? So you statement is just not true.

That being said. I agree that both our stars are flawed, But for me the biggest problem with this team is the psychological aspect. For some reason they are just not hungry and are not good in handling setbacks. I hope a good coach and a couple of team players might be able to fix that.

I would not be that upset if we traded Dwight, he is getting older. But I would want something good in return.

Dwight is unrestricted. Morey doesn't want to give him the max ad for good reason. He'll also play second fiddle in negotiations to other "max dollar" free agents. There's a very good chance he signs elsewhere for more money or his agent will get him signed elsewhere to not look toothless.

Oh man I hope something is in the works and Codman can put out some more hints. This will be major rep points for Codman IF something does go through.

Is this a reference to teams with bird names, or Larry Bird, as some have speculated; or is this a reference to the "FreeBirds (Smoov 1 of 2?)" in your signature?

Here we go, this deadline seems like it wil be very interesting this year. I'm 100% for trading Howard and getting some things back. He's going to walk, we don't need to pay him max, free throws hurt us morey knows, risky to sign for a long contract because of injury, no jumper

    Too many negatives

What makes the most sense has everything to do with what Howard wants.

If he wants a max contract, then there is no way he is staying here. So lets get what we can.

If he wants to stay in Houston and play for a hometown discount, then lets keep him.

But to do nothing and let him walk for nothing knowing he is going elsewhere is insane.

I don't know about this. Fundamentally, Harden is not a worse defender than Steph Curry, he just doesn't try as hard as Curry. I wouldn't say Harden is flawed in a way that he's not comparable to any other star in the league.

The right coach can motivate Harden to play better defense, and that's not the only problem we have.

    Hawks AND C's maybe?

    Horford + Teague to HOU
    Dwight + Dmo to BOS
    BKN 1st, Olynyk to ATL

Da Birds could mean a three way trade with Chicago and the Hawks too - not sure what works best in that scenario yet.

The "Da Birds" reference....someone guessing maybe a 3-way involving one of those teams and Chicago.

But I also wonder about the "FreeBirds (Smoov 1 of 2)" that Codman has in his signature and which he references time and again.

    How would it not?

But to get a Horford back in a trade, Atlanta would have to pretty much give DH12 a good idea that he'll be re-signed at or near the money he wants.

Same would be true for any team. "You gonna pay me? How much?"

Boston will probably offer (probably already offered) David Lee's expiring and some player who can fill the salary gap for the trade. How many of those picks (Boston's own, Dallas', certainly not Brooklyn's) come into play is another question.
