Looks like they will all go to the same church. The entire Warriors team is full of religious freaks like Durant.

"People have asked me to track down this quote from Andre Iguodala's first Warriors press conference in 2013: "Steph and I played together in 2010 in Turkey, and after practice we would come back to the gym at night when we were overseas and just get some shots up. I believe it was Kevin Durant was with us, a lot of the time. So it was us three, maybe one or two other guys, but us three were always together"

I don't think Durant cares what the media will say or think, but because of that fact I don't see why he would leak this to the media in the first place, so that doesn't add up. And I find it hard to believe that Durant wouldn't want to form his own team to take them down. It's NBA nature to want to play with the best players, but only to take down a reigning champ, or win a champ, not join them until you are so late in your career you are on the downside.

nothing leaked. it's just an article by Woj on how the GSW may pursue KD and how it could work if KD is willing. Nothing says KD is interested. Its nothing surprising. First it was Howard, then Klove, and now KD. It's just the nature of the business for this stuff to come out

Just wondering if this is true? Can the league veto a free agent signing?

Would be a major mistake for the Warriors to sign him...they are the best team by a long way already - you don't do a major change which will effect others like Green and Thompson......

    Pass on Durant.

They already have the best team, why mess with that.

Why would the Warriors want Kobe? He'd freeze Curry, Thompson and Durant out to shoot a dozen awful threes. ;)

They don't have the cap space to sign Durant to a max deal and keep everyone. They're projected to be about $15 million under next season's cap and a Durant max would require about $25M. They can clear that $10M needed by getting rid of either Bogut's or Iguodala's deal...which shouldn't be too hard, since both are solid to good players and will be on expiring contracts.

Then they can re-sign Barnes and Ezeli, going over the cap to do that with their Bird rights.

That would leave them with (I'm choosing that they'd move Bogut, since he fits less well than Iguodala into what they do):

    C: Festus Ezeli
PF: Draymond Green / Harrison Barnes / Kevon Looney
SF: Kevin Durant / Andre Iguodala
SG: Klay Thompson / Leandro Barbosa
PG: Steph Curry / Shaun Livingston

They'd need a backup center (probably?) but they hardly need a world-beater. They'd have the full MLE to get a backup.

And their small group would be broken-good:

    C: Draymond Green
    PF: Kevin Durant
    SF: Andre Iguodala
    SG: Klay Thompson
    PF: Steph Curry

with the ability to cycle Barnes or Looney into any of the SF/PF/C spots for small-ball.

Johnson left because Sarver didn't want to pay him on top of Nash, Stoudemire and Marion.

Durant has always been a willing passer and is known as a team player, so I don't think the issue will be egos. The issue with so many stars is always whether you can efficiently blend them together into a machine. I think Kerr could do it, because Durant has fine passing and off-ball skills. In a sense, he's identical to the players already on the Warriors except souped-up. He's also a solid defensive player and he's replacing Barnes who was also solid but not a defensive ace.

They also play at such high pace that they generate a lot of shots. More shots as a team means more shots for everyone. Everyone's individual shot totals would go down, but not necessarily to a gigantic extent.

If there is a player that would instantly fit that system and make that team even better than they are, it is Durant with his outside shooting.

If you think it is hard to stop them now with Curry and the other guard that plays for them (cant remember his name) coming off of screens to make jumpshots, try stopping the three of them with Durant coming in to do the same.

The greatest thing would be GS pulling a Dallas and just without any promises go after Durant thinking why woudn't he want to join them and then Durant forms a bad ass team elsewhere while breaking up the Warriors role players lol.

Warriors trade Iggy and Boguts expiring, ezeli, cut livingston. Barnes offered a max, Warriors waiting for Durant before deciding, Warriors forced to match as Durant holds out til last day he can, destroys a dynasty and then signs with the Rockets to be with his good buddy harden, and also Horford. Warriors panic and sign Dwight to max contract.

Durant is not joining the Warriors. I'm giving it 1% chance.

Too much damage to his brand if he does that. This is an era where endorsements beats salary.

Imagine if he joined up and GS don't win? Gets turned into the scapegoat.

He will realign his contract with Westbrook. 2017 is the year of the mega contracts. Lebron, Westbrook, Stephen Curry, (Durant)possible, etc. If you look at the unrestricted Free agents list its so huge that the possibility of another player/ owner negotiation is real.

Some people use the term freak in a different way. Like saying I'm a sports freak or basketball freak, not necessarily like a real freak. Like the song "what will people think when they hear I'm a Jesus freak" he isn't referring to himself as a three eyed monster.

makes no sense for anyone, even Durant. He would be seen as the biggest loser beta sidekick ever. The warriors are already on pace for 70, and easily at that too. Curry and Thompson are dong perfectly fine why bring in another guy that would share credit.

They would not keep Barnes if they sign KD. Play the same position so Barnes is unnecessary.

They only need to keep Curry at the 1, Klay at the 2, KD at the 3, Draymond at the 4.

    Everyone else is expendable.
