As Wexler pointed out, official transcript contradicts NBA's latest version:

    Pool Reporter Transcript

    Crew Chief John Goble

Postgame – Washington at Houston, January 30, 2016

NBA Crew Chief John Goble met with pool reporter Fran Blinebury of NBA.com after the game between the Wizards and Rockets in Houston tonight. Here is the transcript of that interview:

Question: What were the rulings on the technical fouls issued to [Dwight] Howard and Nene?

Goble: The rulings on Nene and Howard were: Nene was initially issued his first technical foul for wrapping Howard in the upper torso area. Howard was then issued a technical foul for pushing Nene. Nene was then issued a second technical foul for continuing to taunt Howard after that.

ESPN just had a segment titled "Dwight Howard's Behavior" in which they talked about how he "behaves poorly on the court." It was cringe-worthy. I feel so bad for Dwight. So many players have done so many worse things than him during games and they never get talked about. He is treated so unfairly by the league and the media.

I've lost interest in the NBA this year. I can attribute much of it to the Rockets poor performance this year, but the horrendous officiating certainly plays its part.

Moreover, it's become painfully obvious that the NBA is run as a clique and if your team or players aren't a part of that clique, then watch out.

It's almost comical they can declare the NBA as a "Professional" league when its so personality and agenda driven.

I'll tune in next year I'm sure to see that probably nothing changed. In the meantime, I'll say no thank you.

It's gotten that way for me too, it's just not fun to watch and I feel as if I'm wasting my time. The league is so soft, biased, and full of BS. I can't wait for March Madness.

I love how we act like we're done with it but wind up crawling back anyways.

I would just like to point out that if Ty made the three pointer, none of this would have happened

Lawson got 5 games for 2 DUI's and Dwight gets 2 for a motion every player uses when someone puts their hands on them. I haven't watched any replays, but I don't even remember Dwight looking at the ref before doing it, for all he knew it was someone else trying to hold him.

    This is so stupid.

If I'm Les, Morey and the rest, whenever we have our next national tv game, I would sit the starters and rotational players.

Bring 5 players and let them do whatever the hell they want.

The replay is in gif form on the prior page. He knew who it was, just was caught up in the Heat of the moment.

If there's anything I will say, while it may be hard to tell, it does appear the ref is too physical with Dwight before Dwight shoves him away. Meaning, we've seen refs put out a hand to prevent a player from proceeding before... in this case it does really appear the ref is actually forcefully touching Dwight, and while it isn't in the rules, quid pro quo certainly seems reasonable.

But the rules also are the rules.

Certainly there some questions about what actually occurred, but you also can't overcomplicate it. Yes, Dwight gets reffed poorly... but there are plenty of teams and players that get reffed poorly, either all the time, or semi-frequently. And even the teams that don't also some of them act chippy a lot of the time. The Warriors aren't soft. They don't play soft. But they also aren't "dumb hard".

Instead they set strong hard "legal" picks, they know just when and how much to push and tug, etc.

Dwight is CONSTANTLY pushing or doing some kind of arm movement or hand movement that is just blatantly dumb and obvious and accomplishes nothing.

He can still be physical, and in fact can even be way more dirty, but do it a lot smarter.

Well said. Dwight just has to be smarter and be "deceptively" physical. I recall even Yao set some nasty picks once in a while.

The NBA is really doing its best to push me out as a fan.

They refuse to address major issues with their game (namely flopping) year after year after year.

They refuse to address the ridiculously bad officiating, year after year after year.

I am definitely done as a season ticket holder. I think I might be done with the whole league at this point.

What I hate is the discrepancy between officiating. If GS sets an illegal screen it gets called maybe 5% of the time. No one else is given so much liberty on that end. Bogut basically plays instigator on defense against other big men, but he is rarely charged with a technical foul or a flagrant when illegal contact is made.

At the end of the day it feels like the NBA needs to change its name to NBE to fall in line with other sports entertainment concepts like WWE and TNA.

Someone tell me a good college team to follow. Much more pure and no agendas set by the NCAA to make money off big market teams and bs hype/trends

Just got to stick to the rules - can't touch a ref.

It is not fair with what he has had happen to him, but that rule is one that has to be adhered to no matter what.
