I guess I'm holding out hope that the Trump and Carson support is up for grabs. And that Cruz is still vulnerable. Rubio won't drop in NH. So if Christie, Kasich and Bush are within 5% support of each other do they call it quits then? I do agree that if any should bomb, they should go....but can see a reasonable position to keep going if the field is still tight. Lots will change in the coming weeks!
This article from 538 gives me hope Compares Trump support to that given to Pat Robertson, Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul. Silver's been calling for Trumps fall for a while, so maybe he's biased, but I'm hoping he's right!
I wouldn't say that whatsoever and I'm a big Rubio supporter. He certainly came out with the best possible result in Iowa....short of a victory. Momentum and attention will now come his direction along with a lot of attacks. The good news is he seems good at fending off those attacks. New Hampshire though looks good for Kasich as he is currently 2nd in some polls there. Christie is gonna use it as a last stand and will perform better than Iowa but unclear if it will be enough to keep the money flowing. Bush has so much $$$ that it's unclear when he might drop. Carson took 4th and stubbornly seems unwilling to get out yet. Until some of the guys above actually drop out, Rubio will struggle to gain on Trump/Cruz. The good news for Rubio is those 2 will continue to split the conservative vote and Rubio should strengthen with the momentum he gained last night and as the fringe moderate candidates drop. Eventually, it will probably be Rubio vs. Trump/Cruz winner.
I'm aware. That's why I don't think 4th place is good enough for him. He has too much invested in that state. He needs a big finish.
Not really, I believe the stats people have been pretty steadfast on predicting Rubio for a while now.

Wow, that Donald tweet sounds kinda like a step toward running as an independent candidate at some point. You have to hand it to him: he does not let himself be politically handled or advised by staff.

The Des Moines Register the most famous paper in Iowa endorsed Hillary. Now they are calling for an investigation of the results. The paper is criticizing the Dem Party for not releasing the raw vote totals or the details of the coin flips to the newspaper or to the Sander's campaign. Who really knows if there is fraud, though any irregularities seem to be generally favoring Clinton. One candidate must receive over 50% to win correct? Or is that local. It'd be fun to have that happen and then there be a run off.
No run off, the House of Representatives elects the president if no one reaches an absolute majority. It's by state though, so each state only gets one vote. I'm not sure who would have the majority in the situation off the top of my head. I know the House is majority Republican, but if you break down to one state one vote I'm not sure.

If anyone's interested in Iowa coin flipping, I found this informative. Early reports that Hillary was winning all these coin flips appears to be false. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/02/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-coin-flips-iowa-caucus/459429/ But the Bernie supporters I know (and I know a lot) are already folding the coin flips into the persecution narrative.
