Wow wouldn't that be great? Have Blatt like an offensive coordinator or something.

Word was Blatts D was good and that he had bad offense.

Whats Pringles up to these days? 76ers right?

Him and Thibs would be a good mix of offense/defense

Who are other decent offensive coaches? Wesphaul, McMillan, Avery Johnson, Steve Clifford?

The list is going to be alot longer than the OP's. I also think that this Summer could be the one where JVG starts taking interviews as well.

    The Headliners-

    -Thibs
    -Brooks
    -Hollins
    -Blatt
    -JVG
    -Jackson
-McHale (yes, he will get interviews)
    -DAntoni
    -A. Johnson

    Lesser known up and comers-

    -Walton
    -Ollie
    -Hammon
    -Messina
    -K. Atkinson
    -Larranaga
    -Udoka
    -JBB (if Rockets hire elsewhere)

I think Thibs should be at the top of the Rockets list. If they can get him.... I have a feeling the Lakers will come out of the woodwork with a crazy offer as well as Brooklyn. He's going to be hard to get especially with the Rockets questionable personalities of their stars.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets already offered him the job when they let go of McHale, and Thibs decided to wait it out till the Summer. If Brooks turned down the Rockets, I'm sure Thibs probably did too.

That's why they decided to just keep JBB for the time being. No point in paying for someone like Avery Johnson or whoever would take the job when he's not the perfect guy moving forward. At that point of the season when they were off to such a bad start, it was a crap shoot either way if they'd still contend this year. JBB probably did as good as anyone would have done at picking the team out of the trenches and making someone out of this year.

This Summer though, I think I like the Rockets chances alot better of remodeling the roster, and giving a new coach a fresh start to do something innovative with the team. Morey & Les always seem to keep their coaches for around 4 years so whoever they hire they better feel pretty damn good about to give that long term commitment. Seeing their track record also makes me believe its less likely that JBB gets the job long term.

Unfortunately, Messina or other potentially good NBA coaches are not going to count with Harden's full respect. Rivers is a coach Harden is going to respect, for his career, his personality. The kind of coach who could change something in him. Maybe Thibs, not sure, I see Rivers managing better the chemistry with stars.

Rivers is a very good coach. A bad GM, and has his own weaknesses as a coach, like every single one, but he is very solid. His teams are solid at both ends, look prepared, play quality basketball. His guys are disciplined. He is smart and experienced, has gone trough so many battles in modern basketball.

Anyway its unlikely to see him fired, I was just saying.. But I think it's a key to get somebody who Harden's going to really respect. And there are few coaches at that position right now without a job, if any.

Will Morey hire a coach who will actually run his own system as opposed to a talking head like McHale who basically did as Morey wanted?

Could you imagine somehow prying Mike Krzyzewski away from Duke? Look at what he did for Harden during the 2014 FIBA tournament. Look at his success in college and in the Olympics. He coached 5 NCAA championship teams since 1980.

Did I mention his coaching could have been an important reason for Harden having an MVP-like performance last season? If he couldn't inspire this team to greatness, then no one could.

Then again, that's the ultimate coaching pipe dream, isn't it?

That is the million $ question.
I hope the new coach can run his on system, and have some input on the type of players he needs.

Would Blatt even consider anything other than a HC position?
