Good news, guys!!! The Rockets can only go up from here... right???

This just keeps getting worse, looking at that old thread on the hopes/dreams of this season, it'd be nice if we could just get a do-over on the whole season.

Hey maybe while they're working on the Defense they can work on a game plan for when the 3's aren't falling. Haha, sometimes it reminds me of how I'd play nba jam or something, **** guys, stop shooting the 3 when it's not working.

Part of it is personnel. We've been stuck with T-Jones, Capela, Harrell, D-Mo(occasionally), or going small with Ariza or Brewer at the 4 all season. We're horrible at the 4 spot. Maybe Smith improves us in that area a little, but that's a big reason our interior D and rebounding is so bad.

Another factor though is that the Rockets are married to this defensive scheme of gambling for steals and switching on D. I have no idea if this is because we have a lazy, stupid coaching staff that can't come up with a real system or if it's because Morey has his stats which supposedly validate this approach and is forcing the coaches to stick with it.

Either way, it ain't working. We're getting destroyed on defense almost every night no matter who the opponent is. And we're not good enough offensively to outscore the other team. Which is how you wind up hovering around .500 all season.

BTW, one aspect of it is laziness and a lack of accountability. How many times have we seen our guys get beat down the floor in transition which results in easy, uncontested layups and dunks for the opponent? Far too many to keep track of.

This feels spot on to me. Painful to read. SMH at those rebounding numbers. There would be a hard stop on that foolishness if Thibs were in charge.

We went from a twin towers line up (Cap + Dwight) to a small ball line up (Ariza + Dwight). I want to like JB so bad but with the rotations changing like this, how does he expect us to find any chemistry on either end of the floor?
