Javi Martinez now also out for a month or so, eff this. We definitely need to sign a defender or we're only left with Badstuber vs. Juve.
Hard to say, we probably have to trigger a buyout clause and buy someone that is a bit more expensive (Laporte?) or find a quick deal for a player with a contract that expires in summer (some news saying we're after N'Koulou). PS, something for the summer: Di Marzio is saying we will meet with Bologna on Tuesday for a Amadou Diawara signing, 18yr old defensive midfielder. Offer will be roughly 10mil. Any of the Seria A watchers know more about him?
Watched some videos of Diawara. Seems like a prototypical athletic 6, would fit right into Ancelotti's system. This transfer would seem like Ancelotti already pulling some strings (Italian League, defense-minded, physical 6 in front of the defense). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uko2uWxDP18" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Don't think Bayern will spend right now. Guess they will rather search for a loan deal, if so. Martinez saying it's just a small injury, Marca assumes he will be out for just 2-3 weeks, so maybe our guys take the risk.
I am not saying these are bad signings. I think its a very good gamble. What I was implying is that with.... 1) 16 games left in the season 2) Title up for grab 3) lack of a defensive midfielder 4) lack of a quality centre back 5) lack of a quality striker 6) overall poor midfield 7) the guaranteed injury every game ...all Wenger does is sign a budget 5M Egyptian nobody from Basel, and some young prospects. You would think that the guy that hasnt won in more than 10 years would take advantage of this golden opportunity. If this does not show Wenger's intent, nothing ever will. He is content with perennial 4th place finishes and Champions league participation.
WIth Wenger it's all about the bottomline, the beautiful football and developing youngsters. Winning EPL titles is secondary.
I hear you but the main issue is him still failing to sign another striker. At least he bought Gabriel last year(even though he is unimpressive). The midfield isn't that bad but like you said a defensive midfielder was needed. ElNeny isn't a widely known star but then again, neither was Vieira. As long as he plays okay even if unspectacular and the team doesn't have to depend on Arteta and Flamini next season if anything happens to Coq then I think it's a win. I think he wants to win the title but imo he is still stubborn and doesn't seem to care what the fans think. Regardless breh, relax, Arsene got this. Even with no other quality striker outside of Giroud and Theo, I'm sure Arsenal will still be in the title hunt by the time we get to the end of April.
Right now we don't have any youth player capable of being a Bayern player in the future, huge talent drought. Our 2nd team has been stuck in Germany's 4th division for years (it's a tough system in our 4th division, as only the team which ends up 1st place plays relegation for division 3. So ending up with 1st place doesn't even guarantee climbing up to the next division) and the coaching staff just stepped down a few weeks ago. Also having character issues with some of the talented guys, loans recently also haven't worked out. They're currently overhauling the youth system and building a new academy, hope we'll see progress in the next years.
BILD saying deal is done. Tasci to Bayern for 2.5mil til summer and then a 10mil buying option. Still conflicting reports whether we have to buy him or if It is just an option. 12.5mil for Tasci would be a bit much, so I hope it's just optional.
Geez you're fast but I guess it's easier when we are just waking up in the States lol. I'm assuming you follow people on twitter, if so, who's good to follow on there?
Bayern confirms it's Tasci. Not overwhelming, but at least some insurance. I just hope the numbers are not correct. 2.5m€ for a six month rent? 10m€ buy option? Way too much for an average player.
Numbers are correct, and apparently we don't have to buy him afterwards. 2.5mil is okay in that situation, we desperately needed someone with experience.
