Trade for Courtney Lee and when Harden is uncoachable pull Harden out of the game. Plus Lee and Howard have a past. Lawson, Lee, Ariza, Smith & Howard should / would win more games than not. This would make Harden a better player long term, IMO. After the smoke clears (yes Lee is not a point but Harden has the ball anyway & that puts 3&D on both sides of Harden) Lee, Harden, Ariza, Smith, Howard ________________________ Jones and McDaniels For Lee ________________________ Griz do it for McD & real look at Jones for nothing....
I like that Lee trade idea..though not sure at what the Grizzlies will be interested in. Possibly they want a wing back? But it should work. And yeah Lawson is gone. There's no way we opt in and pay him 13 million next year. Perhaps he can be traded before the draft to Bkn? But don't think they will buy the bluff, and esp if their new GM isn't an idiot like King. Lawson's best option would be to sign to BKN for one year and try to regain hsi value so he will get paid again, like Rondo has done. And Rondo will get paid a lot of cash.
the only way we should trade lawson is if we get an above average pg on a good contract or we attach brewer to that trade, that expiring could be important for us , since its beginning to look like either Sa or OKC or even GS will take us out in the first round
RHJ. But of course it won't happen. It's a moot point. One would have to hope for the next BKN GM to be as braindead as the last one.
Maybe Lawson is not the player he once was... I too do not want him back next season. But there has to be something there --> one just does not fall off that quickly without injury --> he was better than most just last year.
If this team wants to make the playoffs Brewer needs t be traded ASAP just so JB will stop starting him and playing him so much.
Well with the way he's been playing and his off court issues, Lawson once again will have to make a bet on himself. Because apart from BKN there's no other team who will give him a good long contract. And that's because they are desperate. Perhaps he will get offers for 1+1 or 2+t.o. But longer than that.. The Knicks will not do it either, and they have no pg. PJax has proven to be a competent GM. He made Afflalo take a 1+1 he gave a change to D.Williams (though that t.o was bad), he signed KOQ to a great contract, there's no way he gives Lawson many years.(not to mention that Lawson doesn't fit the triangle well). I think the Suns can get better than that, and the second trade idea will never happen. Batum can fetch much better than Capela. Esp if before the trade he lets his new team know he will resign. But don't see them even trading him. They are not out of the playoffs for good yet.
We need to trade offense for defense. We have too many shooters and not enough defenders. If we just get some more 3 and D and transition defense studs we can close some holes
Weather they r in or not batum is expiring and he wont resign, and they have a ready made replacemant in MKG....its gonna be hard for them to find something better then a 13 million expiring contract plus and up and coming young center on a great deal.....unless picks r involved, which i dont see anyone giving for an expiring batum Its funny how you just said 4 months ago Jones could get a late first and now ur saying suns wont accept a deal when they r trying to trade a disgruntled morris....my how times change
Brew IMO isnt as bad as he has played this year, but because we r such a disgusting defensive team it limits him completely. His whole game is built off of transition basketball
they do indeed..exactly how Batum was traded for Vonleh who now is worthless and will end up getting a max contract. Times change. When Jones can't even get playing time, his value has hit rock bottom. But I think they can get better than that because you also added them Brew. If it was just Jones for sure they would do it. But with Brew's ugly contract? And it's debatable if Batum will not resign there. He has a great role and seems focused with his team. Plus more money and more years.
I agree about batums role and his situation, it does seem very fluid and a good spot for him. And i do think he would take the years and max for sure, but would the hornets want to give him that contract after locking up MKG for 13/per...and we r doing them a favor by taking hawes 5 mill contract in the process,Big AL is a free agent and capela can slide right in in a beautiful contract, its dicey but i can see where you could be right These proposals however are if we want to go allin for the year which i dont think we should, id rather trade ariza and blow it up from now because its his peak value and his cap hit gets lower from here and he could net us something extremely significant , but i have no clue what strategy morey has in mind
Oh yeah. MKG's contract is about proper value now. If he can learn to be in the length of his contract a good enough shooter of open 3s at least, it will be a straight up bargain. He's still very young. Only 22 and one of the most versatile and elite defenders in the league. Big Al I dont' even know if he will get a 10+ contract next year. (and that's taking into account that bigs get paid). Charlotte can't wait to get rid of him, and the game has passed him by. Yeah, same no clue what Morrey has in mind. However if we sell Ariza now, we can get significant value back. But it will be very hard to replace him too.
Today Gallinari can get traded. Probably Boston. 7 picks in one draft are too much and they can't use them all.
I wonder if Sacramento would be willing to part with Colison along with Gay. Then maybe there would be enough left to swing a deal for Ryan Anderson. Ariza and Capela would have to be made available along with one of the PFs and Lawson, but at this point, a major shake-up's in order. I don't know if the salary works for the Rockets, though.
