I don't know if Manziel is good enough to ever be a quality NFL player, but damn if he isn't doing his best to make sure we never find out.
In the same league as Vince Young. On the other hand, look at Case Keenum - keeping it together. Just saying.
Johnny is an idiot. But you really have some hatred for this guy. Over and over again you state how he sucks as a QB. He did something to you I guess. Maybe cause he's an Aggie, I don't know. But you really got a thing for Johnny.
Wait, do you think he's a good QB? He's not exactly convincing people that he's a viable NFL QB, and this is something that I said prior to the draft... I don't have any hatred for the guy, I just don't see how so many people are clouded by his supposed "skill-set" from college, which was improvisation/instinctual and make something out of nothing. He's admitted to not having much experience in reading formations/defenses, and he somehow keeps looking more and more stupider off the field (which I didn't think was possible). That crap is not sustainable in the NFL... never has been. Not to mention he has the body-type of a kicker (and has been roughed up as much, in his brief stints playing)... which doesn't give him any more probability for success. TBH, he doesn't deserve to be in the spotlight as much as he is (let alone continue to have this thread bumped).
No, I don't think he's a good QB. He looks like he could possibly be on the same level of Colt McCoy, or Case Keenum. But, it looks like we'll never know for sure if he's any good, because something is wrong with this kid. He's and idiot, or has a mental problem or something. But, for some reason you are obsessed with him. People do like to watch him play, whether they like him or hate him. You said yourself you were watching his games. You really do hate the guy for some reason. Whatever.
I can definitely say I'm not obsessed with him. The people that thought he should have been the #1 pick overall, and those who think he's doing this intentionally just to get to Dallas and succeed, are the ones that are obsessed... as it is, you're comparing him to a 3rd round pick and a undrafted free agent... he probably should have been drafted somewhere in between. I thought he would fail... and he's exceeded my expectations. I'm not watching his games any more so than I watch any other NFL team... but I have seen enough to say that there's not enough there to withstand all the off-the-field stuff. People liked to watch him play in college. Most of those same people now realize that what worked for him in college will never work in the NFL.... and this is even before the character issues that will ultimately seal his fate. Now, is saying the truth about him really me "hating" him? Whatever...
He's been a well known and documented spoiled little rich douchebag since he was in HS, probably before then as well.
Vince Young won games, went to the playoffs, won ROY and was twice a Pro Bowler. Which of those things has Johnny Manziel done? VY had and apparently continues to have his issues...but Manziel is on Ryan Leaf/Todd Marinovich's level.
how do we even know if he can play or not? he's flashed but what if he has been playing with hangovers. the money is going to run out and the idiots he's hanging out with are all going to be gone. the not for long league doesn't wait for anyone. it could be he's screwed his chances already. good going johnny who?
Not to mention VY played and won one of the greatest college football games of all-time, with a national championship on the line.
The entire Manziel clan is just a band of gypsies, and he's the Gypsy Prince The only amazing part to me anymore is that he's managed to fool enough important people this long Once the NFL is done with him, he can go back full-time to breeding roosters, partying in disguise, beating his women ... and whatever else gypsies do to pass the time
