If you watch the games it's clear enough. I'm not gonna go cherry pick stats to fit my argument, when it's blatantly clear that Jones is garbage if you have any understanding of the game of basketball.
I can't take you seriously when you think we "have nothing to lose". ....so you can't produce any data. Can you even "cherry pick" some... just for grins?
The last few holdouts are true believers, there's nothing that will shake their blind faith in Jones.
Ole Bobby up to his old tricks.... "if you're aren't with us, you're against it". Absolutes are sooo silly and out of touch with reality.
If you can't watch the games and see that Jones is hurting the team more often than not when he's on the court and that Harrell was helping the team more often than not when he was on the court then there's probably no point in having a conversation that's over your head. How about we do it this way, what in your opinion does Jones bring to the team that Harrell does not? I can answer the opposite of that question really easily, can you justify Jones even being on the roster?
We really don't as far as shaking it up at PF. Hell, this team as a whole is going nowhere in the postseason unless something, be it personnel or psychological, changes. And what stats am I supposed to look up for Trez when he never plays? DNP's aren't exactly a favorable analytic.
Just so we are clear. You can't cherry pick any stat? Fouls less, not hot tempered (Harrell tied for 10th among PFs in technical), shoots better free throws, better playmaker (in the context of PF), better weakside defender, better weakside blocker, more offensive range, and just plain old experience. If I was betting man, I'd say Harrell would have a better career after watching Jones regress in a contract year. However, that doesn't mean Harrell is ready yet.
In all honesty, the coaching staff and FO doesn't trust either Jones or Harrell. JSmoove will be taking over minutes at the PF and probably a few at the C. Still got a trade deadline and just 3 games out from 5th seed. It's not time to lose our minds yet. And who has more DNPs this season? Jones or Harrell? Nice deflection. Personally, I like bball reference as you can look up D League and NBA stats...
Prior to Josh returning, harrell was the best spark plus we had! The dude was hustling, playing D and just working hard whenever he was on the floor. Many nights he had the best +/- on the team in his limited minutes... so of course JB stopped giving him minutes... JB is such an idiot!
I clarified, UNLESS SOMETHING CHANGES, this team is going nowhere. Dude, comparing stats from the D League to NBA is apples to oranges, just watch the two play and use the good ol' eye test. It actually tends to work if you know basketball. I'm not anti-analytics, but there isn't enough data present to make an accurate assessment. Harrell has played a grand total of 257 minutes in his rookie season. WOW WHAT A SAMPLE SIZE!
I'd just like JB to play our young guys. Look how far the Spurs and Warriors go into their bench. I think that is a key to the Spurs continued success, they freaking develop their rookies. We don't do squat with ours (Capela maybe being the lone exception). I'd like to see KJ and Harrel get more burn.
My mistake. I was actually comparing D League to D League and NBA to NBA. I do watch the two play. And he is is tied with like 3 others player for 10th most technicals in those 257 minutes.... The guy's energy is a bit out of control and doesn't translate into better rebounding individually or team. Remember, you're using that sample size to make a prediction on him too.... I'm just using data to make a decision along with the subjective nature of the "eye ball test".
We have to wait until the trading deadline to move TJ......you know, teams are more desperate and you get the best deal. The suspense is killing me!! Or is it just Jones?!
geez... it's nothing to do with what tjones does. just dont place too much hope on kj or harrell. they cant help this team much. not much they can do. they're too raw.
Great, he'd contrast the rest of the lackadaisical team, possibly compensating for the lack of heart we regularly see. (Mild sarcasm) Point is, we can't keep doing the same thing over and over expecting things to change.
It's why we got Smith, to hedge against TJones and Harrell. Don't forget DMo will be playing in the D League temporarily so hopefully he can stay healthy. Bev/Lawson Harden/Thornton Ariza/Brewer DMo/JSmoove Howard/Capela But then again, trade deadline is 2/18. Look, I just don't see Harrell being the answer or usurping Jones before the deadline.
