ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 1/29/2016

Did you watch the game? Dwight Howard, the max player, didn't score a single point in the second half! The Rockets won 3 straight without him, and they lost 2 in a row since his return. Blame him, not the refs.

Mavs and Spurs would also make a great series. I remember 2 years ago it went 7 games. Rockets if consistent and learn how to play a full game again have good chances

After Jones,Brewer and Lawson are traded we will play much better. Book it

 

Harrell should be playing, but I guess Jones is being "showcased".

Dwight was maybe mistreated, but is still a mental midget.

Several bad calls and non-calls this game; most in OKC's favor.

Rockets have been taking better care of the ball lately... 10 TO's tonight.. 15 (Spurs), 13 (Pelicans), and 7 vs the Mavs. Just simply fewer dumb passes.

People tearing the Rox down for this game don't know what they're talking about, we lost Dwight and OKC only won by 8 pts! I don't wanna hear about this "Can't hang with top dogs" BS c'mon if we had Dwight we win this game surely he's worth more than 8 ****ing pts? People act like the Rox are the worst but look at OKC, you had WB and Durant going HAM and you still only won by 8 pts against a rox team without Dwight? They have bigger problems than the Rox because I can see KD leaving when they get smacked down by SAS or GSW in the playoffs.

For the Rox though, like I said people will talk about coaching or how we need more player who can create but the reality is we just need better shooters. The Rockets offense suck but if we have good 3 pt shooters we can beat anyone, it is a team style that makes up for quality shots with quantity if the Spurs are like a scalpel which is extremely sharp and precise the Rockets are a baseball bat that just hits people on the head.

As such the offense will forever be ugly, but honestly this wouldn't matter if we had decent shooters at the 3. I was only able to watch the 3rd quarter onwards but from what I saw the Rox had a ton of open 3 pt shots...the problem is they only went 9/39 from 3 and I think they were like 3/16 in the 2nd half. Rather than getting another creator (We already have 3 in Harden Smith and Ty outside of a superstar we don't need another), we just need to upgrade our shooters. Thornton and Jet aren't enough they are strictly shooters and when they are cold they lose games for you. We need dynamic guys like Ariza, guys like JJ Reddick or Courtney Lee would do wonders for this team.

 

JB doesn't want to lose any money. Talk about a loser. McHale could coach circles around this guy.This is a .500 team...going to be a .500 team for the season I'm afraid.

If we make the playoffs. We are playing GS, Spurs or OKC. Don't even think about Clips or Grizzles.

Harden will be in the Bahamas with Khloe before May.

 

See what kinds of trades Morey can come up with. TJones, Lawson, Dekker and maybe Brewer(doubt it though).

Jones got bulkier just to let enes freaking Kanter get wherever he wanted then jb just sits there and watches it. Josh smith and dwight howard are the best low post defenders. Capella will get better when he puts more weight on. This team needs to wake up and realize defense wins championships.

 

I feel bad for Thornton. He can't build his rhythm throughout a game and he just has to come in and knock down shots in difficult situations.

Even when he is not hitting shots out there you see his effect on offense with the floor being spaced out giving Harden room to operate. I want to see him get some spacing and work the P&R to get a rhythm going, but they don't run that play for him anymore.

 

1. GSW vs Kings(think Demarcus will help them get to to the playoffs this season)
2. Spurs vs Mavs (Mavs are bound to fall apart...)
3. OKC vs Rockets (Rockets arent bad enough to be a lottery team/8th seed, but arent good enough to sustain a run...1st round rematch would be fun)
4. Clippers vs Grizzlies (They are essentially going to beat each other down)

 

Capella is just not there yet! Where is our DMO?

Bring back Harrell already, I think he better than Tjones at this point.
