This happens way too often with us and is a sign of bad habits. This group of guys just cannot maintain that good attitude game after game. Sure any team goes through this, but it has happened way too often this year. Any fixes and maybe even more important, why does this happen so often?
Is he calling out the coaching staff? Proper preparation doesn't sound like he's talking about individual players, the staff should be responsible for pre-game preparations.
It's a sign of poor coaching. Any time preparation is an issue it's on the coaches. Also, you probably should have included a link.
why should the staff be responsible. pre-game is time for the players themselves to determine what they need to do to get ready for a game. And every player is different and does whatever they need to do to get ready.
I want to support JB and hope his staff succeed, but I feel like all of this comes from coaching. McHale lost the team early in the season. JB, i dont think has lost the team, but he's not getting the team ready. I dont know who the next coach should be, but it needs be someone who instills discipline and leadership. If you dont have leader on the court, you sure as hell need one on the bench.
He's talking about players' approach to the game, not coaching. Look at the last sentence in the first paragraph. Because our leading personalities are passive, that's why it happens...we've known this for a while..which is why Terry is important, even on the court, which is why is the reason JB gave for playing him over MC.
It's disgusting a player has to point this out, this is all on the coach I could turn this ****ing team into title contenders within an offseason/preseason. It's not hard
This is one of the reasons the Spurs are so good. Their players are mature and take their job seriously. They put their head down and go to work. This is what mature players and mature teams do. Immature players and teams lose focus and don't take every day seriously.
Hopefully he relays this message to the team and it gets through. Terry is the vet and a champ, right? It seems like we just keep hearing variations of the same "we didn't prep well"/"didn't come out with energy" over and over throughout this season.
The spurs and warriors players understand their role and the players are willing to sacrifice their individual stats for a championship. The Rockets have just as much talent as the spurs or warriors, but they don't have the same mindset and individual sacrifice. T_Man
